Pro Tips For The Best Air Fryer French Onion Chicken
To achieve the best Air Fryer French Onion Chicken, consider these pro tips:
-
Use Parchment Paper: Line the air fryer basket with parchment paper to prevent the chicken from sticking to the basket and to make cleanup easier.
-
Preheat the Air Fryer: Preheat your air fryer for a few minutes before cooking to ensure even and consistent results.
-
Coat the Chicken Evenly: Make sure to coat the chicken with a thin layer of olive oil before applying the French’s Fried Onions. This helps the coating become extra crispy.

Patience is Key: Don’t rush the cooking process. Cook the chicken in batches if necessary to avoid overcrowding the air fryer basket, which can lead to uneven cooking.
-
Flip as Needed: Depending on your air fryer model, you may need to flip the chicken halfway through the cooking time to ensure even browning.
-
Check Internal Temperature: Use a meat thermometer to ensure the chicken reaches a safe internal temperature of 165°F (74°C) for optimal doneness.
-
Let it Rest: Allow the cooked chicken to rest for a few minutes after removing it from the air fryer. This helps the juices redistribute and keeps the meat moist.
-
Serve with a Sauce: Consider serving your French Onion Chicken with a dipping sauce or a drizzle of French onion sauce for an extra layer of flavor.
By following these pro tips, you’ll elevate your Air Fryer French’s Crunchy Onion Chicken to a restaurant-quality dish with a crispy, flavorful coating and tender, juicy chicken.

- Cooling: Allow the cooked chicken to cool to room temperature. It’s important not to freeze hot food as it can raise the freezer’s internal temperature.
- Wrap Individually: Wrap each chicken piece individually in plastic wrap or aluminum foil. This prevents them from sticking together and helps maintain their crispiness.

- Label and Date: Label the container or bags with the date of freezing to keep track of freshness.
