Air Fryer Old Fashioned Coffee Cake Coffee and cake are two of the most important things in a mom’s day. So, when I found out that my air fryer could make coffee cake, I knew it was time to test it out.
This recipe is easy to make and taste, just like traditional old-fashioned coffee cakes you find at bakeries! The only difference is that this one is made without an oven!
The best part about this recipe is that it’s a one-bowl coffee cake, which means no more dirtying up another dish! It also makes the cleanup process much quicker, and you’ll be able to enjoy your coffee cake without any guilt. This air fryer old-fashioned coffee cake will have your family asking for seconds and thirds. So what are you waiting for? Grab those ingredients and whip up this delicious breakfast or dessert in minutes!

How To Make Air Fryer Old Fashioned Coffee Cake
Mix the baking mix, sugar, butter, milk, and egg in a large mixing bowl. Then mix all of the batters until it’s well blended. Find an air fryer-safe pan (that fits in your air fryer) and spread the batter out.
Then in a large mixing bowl, mix the baking mix, brown sugar, ground cinnamon, and butter.
Mix that well. Then fold in the chopped pecans. Scatter on top of the coffee cake.
Place in the air fryer oven/or basket and air fryer (setting should be air fry) for 12 to 20 minutes at 320 degrees F. Check your cake for doneness.
Let cool slightly, then plate, serve and enjoy!
Pro Tips:
- This recipe will work in any Air Fryer Basket or oven Model. I have made this several times in the Ninja Foodi, Instant Pot Vortex, Instant Pot Crisp Lid, and Mealthy Lid. The recipe will remain the same, and the cooking time may vary.
- For best results, use a thinner cake pan than you are using to since the air fryer needs o cook the middle of the cake, which makes it really difficult in a thick pan.
- Check on your cake frequently during the cooking process. If you find that the cake is cooking too fast and the bottom is raw, cover tightly with foil, and reduce the temperature to 300 degrees F.
How To Store Coffee Cake
Coffee cake is a delicious treat that you can enjoy at any time of the day. It’s typically served for breakfast, but many people enjoy it as an afternoon snack or dessert. But how should you store coffee cake?
We’ve all been there before: You head into the kitchen in search of something sweet to eat, only to find that your favorite coffee cake has gone stale. Thankfully, there are ways you can make sure this doesn’t happen again!
There are two steps involved with storing coffee cakes correctly:
Wrapping them up tightly in plastic wrap after they have cooled off from baking keeps the air away from it, which causes it to get hard and dry up. YOu can either store the Air Fryer Old Fashioned Coffee Cake at room temperature or place it into the refrigerator.
How To Freeze Coffee Cake
Frozen coffee cake is a delicious dessert that only takes minutes to prepare. You can make it in advance and enjoy it months later.
To freeze, let it cool to room temperature and then slice into pieces, and then wrap the coffee cake slices into saran wrap. When you are finished warping the pieces individually, then place them into a freezer bag.
The Air Fryer Old Fashioned Coffee Cake will keep for about 1 to 2 months in the freezer. Defrost overnight in the refrigerator.
You can reheat in the microwave for a few seconds, right before serving.
Pans Recommended For Baking In The Air Fryer:
While we all have many pans in our pantry and cupboards, baking in the Air Fryer really requires the correct pan.
If you use a very thick pan that you would use in your oven, the middle will probably not cook up correctly. It is the number one problem that people have when cooking in the Air Fryer.
A thinner pan will work; some of my favorites are (affiliate links included)
