How To Make Easy Air Fryer Guinness Chocolate Cake

Step One: Spray your baking pan with non-stick cooking spray. In a small saucepan, add the beer and butter, and simmer until the butter is melted.

Step Two: Remove from heat, and mix in the sugar, and cocoa powder. Add in the eggs, sour cream, and vanilla extract. Fold in the flour, and baking soda, and mix until smooth.

Step Three: Pour your batter into the prepared pan.

Step Four: Set the baking pan in the air fryer basket and set the air fryer temperature to 320 degrees F, air fryer setting, and set cook time for 15-20 minutes. Continue to air fry until a toothpick comes out clean, when placed into the middle of the cake.

Easy Air Fryer Guinness Chocolate Cake Recipe Tips
- Use Room Temperature Ingredients: Eggs and sour cream should be at room temperature for a smoother, more even batter.
- Check Your Air Fryer Size: Make sure your pan fits comfortably in your air fryer basket without touching the sides for even baking.
- Adjust Cook Time if Needed: Air fryers vary; start checking for doneness around 15 minutes using a toothpick.
- Don’t Skip the Butter and Beer Simmer: This step infuses the cake with rich Guinness flavor and keeps it moist.
- Cool Before Slicing: Let the cake cool slightly to make slicing easier and maintain its fluffy texture.
- Optional Toppings: Dust with powdered sugar, drizzle with chocolate, or serve with whipped cream for extra indulgence.
Storing, Freezing and Make Ahead Instructions
- Storing: Store the cake in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days to keep it moist and flavorful. Avoid leaving it uncovered, as it may dry out quickly.
- Freezing: Wrap the cooled cake tightly in plastic wrap and place it in a freezer-safe container for up to 2 months. Thaw overnight in the refrigerator or at room temperature before serving.
- Make Ahead: You can prepare the batter a day in advance and keep it covered in the refrigerator. Simply pour into the pan and bake in the air fryer when ready to enjoy.

Easy Air Fryer Guinness Chocolate Cake Recipe Faqs
Can I use a different type of beer instead of Guinness? Yes! You can use any dark stout or porter, but Guinness gives the cake its signature deep flavor. Lighter beers may alter the taste and texture slightly.
Can I make this cake in a regular oven? Absolutely! Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 25–30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
How do I know when the cake is done? Insert a toothpick into the center—if it comes out clean or with a few crumbs, the cake is ready.
Can I make this gluten-free? Yes, substitute the all-purpose flour with a 1-to-1 gluten-free baking flour blend. The texture may be slightly different but still delicious.
Can I add frosting or glaze? Yes! A simple chocolate ganache, cream cheese frosting, or dusting of powdered sugar pairs perfectly with this cake.
