Air Fryer Cheesesteak Empanadas Ingredients Notes

  • Meat: Like a traditional Philadelphia cheesesteak, we used ribeye. However, this recipe is a great way to use up some of that ground beef you have on hand. However, if you are looking for a healthier version, try substituting chicken or turkey instead!
  • Vegetables: We used onions and bell peppers. However, you can use a great number of vegetables, anything that is seasonal of you love. This is a great place to use your favorite vegetables.
  • Dough: I used biscuit dough. However, you can use crescent dough or even pizza dough for this recipe.

Air Fryer Cheesesteak Empanadas Recipe Tips

  • Avoid Overcrowding: Place the empanadas in a single layer in the air fryer basket to allow hot air to circulate around them for even cooking. Cook in batches if needed.
  • Brush with Oil: Lightly brush or spray the empanadas with oil before air frying to achieve a golden, crispy crust.
  • Seal the Edges Well: Make sure the edges of the empanadas are well-sealed to prevent the filling from leaking out during cooking.
  • Use Fresh Ingredients: For the best flavor, use high-quality ribeye steak, fresh onions, and bell peppers.
  • Let Them Cool Slightly: Allow the empanadas to cool for a few minutes after cooking to help the filling set and enhance the flavors.
  • Serve with Dipping Sauces: Pair your empanadas with dipping sauces like marinara, ranch, or your favorite dipping sauce for extra flavor.
