KFC Coleslaw

Copycat KFC Coleslaw — The copycat KFC coleslaw recipe is a great addition to any summer cookout. It’s also a delicious side dish that pairs well with all your favorite grilled meats and veggies. With only a few ingredients, this recipe couldn’t be easier!

KFC Coleslaw

Copycat KFC Coleslaw--There is nothing like a homemade version of the famous KFC Coleslaw. It’s a simple dish that you can make in minutes, and it’s absolutely delicious and tastes just like the real thing.

Coleslaw is a great side dish for any meal. It goes with almost everything. I love a great fried chicken dinner, served with a hearty helping of mashed potatoes, gravy and a side of coleslaw. You can not do any better for coleslaw than the restaurant version of KFC.

The Secrets to Copycat KFC Coleslaw

There are a few secrets to the KFC Coleslaw recipe, which is why it’s so different then all of the other restaurant coleslaws.

The first one to mention is the use of Miracle Whip vs. regular mayonnaise. Miracle Whip is different from regular mayonnaise; it has about half the fat of mayonnaise. But, Miracle Sauce includes granulated sugar, paprika, and garlic powder.

The other main difference is the use of buttermilk in the coleslaw. While other coleslaw bases have just mayonnaise, the Kentucky Fried Chicken Coleslaw has both the Miracle Whip, milk, and buttermilk.

Another small difference, which you have ever eaten KFC coleslaw is that it’s almost shredded into small pieces. Rather than use the cabbage shredded, it’s diced into small pieces, resembling rice.
