Air Fryer TGIF Friday's Green Bean Fries

Air Fryer TGIF Friday’s Green Bean Fries was one of the most popular appetizers ordered in TGIFs, they discontinued them a few years back, but you can surprise your family and whip with your air fryer up a batch.

These are the perfect snack and tailgating snack. I made a batch this weekend while my family was watching some football.

If you love a great fried green bean coated with bread crumbs and garlic, this is the perfect snack for you. I love a great crispy treat, so much better than serving regular old potato chips, and with your air fryer, you can serve these up in an instant.

I served these with the Copycat TGIF Creamy Cucumber-Wasabi Ranch Dip, and my kids loved them. But truthfully, I think my kids love anything that they can dip.

Start by setting up your dredging stations. Mix the flour, onion powder, garlic powder, and salt in one bowl. In another bowl, mix your egg and milk, and in the last bowl, add the breadcrumbs.

Dip your green bean into the flour mixture, then the egg mixture, and finally the breadcrumb mixture.

Make sure to shake off any excess as you bread your green beans. Otherwise, as you air fry it, it will clump up.

FAQ’s:

Can I Make These In The Oven?

Yes, prepare them, and then instead of putting them into the air fryer, place them into a preheated 425 degrees F for 12-15 minutes.

Making them in the oven is an excellent idea if you make a massive batch of them for a party or get-together.

Can I Use Frozen Green Beans?

Unfortunately, frozen green beans will not work because they will be too wet when they thaw. I recommend that you purchase fresh green beans for this recipe, available year-round at most grocery stores.

Another option would be to use canned green beans, but you would need to drain them well and dry them on a paper towel before breading them.

What To Serve These With?

Here are some of my favorites,

  • Alfredo sauce
  • Ranch Dressing
  • Sour Cream
  • Marinara Sauce (A Great Recipe for the Instant Pot Homemade Marinara Sauce)
  • TGIF Copycat Creamy Cucumber-Wasabi Ranch Dip

Any sauce you like will be a great dipping sauce, even if you want to add some garlic and melted butter in a small saucepan. Perfect.
