Air Fryer Monster Cookies

Air Fryer Monster Cookies — Monster cookies are so good, and they will scare your taste buds right off the bat! These monster cookies are made with peanut butter, oats, M&M’s, and chocolate chips. They’re soft in the middle and slightly crispy on the outside. Trust me when I say that you’ll be scarfing these down before you know it. Air Fryer Monster Cookies

Monster Cookies are a perfect treat for anyone who loves peanut butter and chocolate; these two flavors make up most of this cookie’s ingredients, along with sugar, flour, eggs, vanilla extract, baking soda, and salt. When preparing the dough for these treats, don’t forget to chill it to give them their signature “monster” shape!

A monster cookie is a chocolate chip cookie recipe that makes two dozen cookies. That’s right; you read correctly: 24 cookies!

The best part about these monstrous treats is how easy they are to make. You can use whatever ingredients and add-ins suit your taste and mood. Make them all the same, or mix it up for variety! Have fun with these and enjoy an indulgence without any guilt.

So, at your next holiday gathering, serve these delicious treats. I’m sure that the kids will go crazy for them.

Who Invented Monster Cookies?

We all know that monster cookies are the best kind of cookie. They’re huge, dense, and chewy with an intense chocolate flavor. But who invented this delicious treat? The monster cookie recipe has been passed down for generations, but no one knows which clever baker first created them or their original name.

Some say it’s because they taste so good your mouth will start to water like a monster! Others say they got their name from being served in a jar – add milk! In either case, these cookies have been around since at least the 1970s, when recipes started popping up in cookbooks and magazines.

Pro Tips:

  • As a baker, I’ve found that one of the most common mistakes is adding too much flour. The most accurate way to measure flour is with a measuring scale. For more hints on correctly measuring flour when baking, read this great article for some helpful tips.
  • Use a variety of mix-ins. Some of my favorites are diced peanuts, shredded coconut, and even some raisins! Use your favorite mix-ins to create new and exciting cooking every time.
  • For best results, keep the dough chilled in between air frying batches and let the air fryer cool. I have found over ht years that the batter will run off if you start with a hot Air Fryer.
  • Any of your favorite chocolate-covered candies will work. I have even used Reese’s Peanut Pieces for a twist.

Ingredient Notes:

Peanut Butter: You can use either creamy or chunky peanut butter. You can also use homemade, but make sure that you mix it before using it since the oil tends to settle on top.

Candy: You can use any chocolate-covered candy, the most popular being M&Ms, but you can also change it out to Reese’s Pieces.

Oats: You can use either Old-Fashioned Oats or Rolled Outs for this recipe.

Other Cookie Add-Ins: You can add any add-ins to this cookie. Popular options are rainbow sprinkles, chocolate, confetti, dried cranberries, shredded coconut, crystallized ginger, diced toffee bars, crushed candy canes, and even chopped mini marshmallows.

How To Store:

To keep your cookies fresh, make sure to store them at room temperature in an airtight container.

For best results, eat your Air Fryer Monster Cookies within a couple of days of cooking them. Otherwise, they will start to harden.

How To Freeze:

After baking, allow cookies to cool completely. Place them in a single layer on a parchment-lined baking sheet and freeze until frozen solid.

Store in a freezer bag or freezer-safe container. They will last for about 2 to 3 months. When you’re ready to eat them, leave them at room temperature or in the refrigerator until thawed.
