Last week, I ordered Louisiana Air Fryer Seasoned Coating Mix off Amazon, because a lot of people were asking me if I ever tried it, I have never even heard of it, so off I went to Amazon, to get a box, to make it in my air fryer.

The instructions are pretty clear and it’s a great alternative to Regular Old Shake and Bake.

According to the website, the ingredients are:

INGREDIENTS: Enriched bleached wheat flour (wheat flour, malted barley flour, niacin, reduced iron, thiamine mononitrate, riboflavin, folic acid), panko bread crumbs (bleached wheat flour, dextrose, yeast, sugar, salt), palm oil, spices, salt, dried garlic, yellow corn flour, paprika, dried onion, hydrolyzed vegetable protein (hydrolyzed corn protein, safflower oil), citric acid. CONTAINS WHEAT. PRODUCED WITH GENETIC ENGINEERING.

So, you get basically a lot of flour, panko bread crumbs, palm oil, and lots of spices.

I actually liked it, I was surprised that although it looks like Shake & Bake, it actually tastes very different. I am assuming it’s the paprika, and Shake and Bake is more of a bread crumb product, rather than Panko.  And while vegetable oil is usually used in Shake and Bake, Louisiana Air Fryer uses Palm Oil.

The only hint that I will give you, which I always give if using any type of breading product for the batter. Is to spray generously the coating mix with olive oil spray. Spraying the bread really makes the coating crisp up, otherwise, it will come out rather dry.

Description

Fast and flavorful, these are one of my kid’s favorite pork chop meals, and I did it all with a boxed seasoning mix, designed for the air fryer. Note: The package instructions do not say to spritz the pork chops, I highly recommend that you do, the oil keeps them moist and flavorful

Ingredients

  • 4 bone-in pork chops
  • 1 package Louisiana Fish Fry Air Fry Pork Coating Mix

Instructions

  • I poured the seasoning into a bowl, large enough to season the pork chops.
  • Coat the pork chop on both sides, as you coat them, place them on to an air fryer basket or tray.
  • Now, the instructions on the package do not call for spritzing the pork chops with olive oil, but I know from experience a generous coat of olive oil, makes the pork chops moist and delicious.
  • Turn the temperature to 400 degrees F, for 5 minutes, after 5 minutes,  flip the pork chops and spray again,
  • Plate, serve, and enjoy!

Equipment

  • Air Fryer, Air Fryer Basket or Air Fryer Oven
  • Cooking Spray
