Greek Yogurt Blueberry Bagels
My kids love homemade bagels, and I love that you can make these anytime and only require really only 3 ingredients. You can also add your own flavorings, dried fruit, or seasoning. Today, I used my son’s favorite fruit, blueberries, and created these. Here is my recipe for Air Fryer Homemade Blueberry Bagels.
As you probably know, these were originally a Weight Watcher recipe, using Greek Yogurt, Self-Rising Flour, and today dried blueberries. I do and an egg wash, but if you are allergic to eggs or do not want it, that’s fine. I find that they taste better.
Ingredients Needed For Air Fryer Blueberry Bagels
Here are the simple ingredients you will need for a batch of blueberry Greek yogurt bagels.
Remember the step-by-step directions and detailed ingredient list are below, in the printable recipe card at the bottom of the post, as well as the nutritional information.
- Self-Rising Flour: Provides the base for the bagel dough, eliminating the need for additional rising agents.
- Greek Yogurt: Adds moisture and a tangy flavor to the dough, creating a soft and chewy texture.
- Dried Blueberries: Infuse the bagels with bursts of sweet, fruity flavor, complementing the dough perfectly.
- Egg Wash (egg and water): Gives the bagels a shiny, golden-brown crust when brushed on before baking, enhancing their appearance and texture.
How To Make Blueberry Bagels In Air Fryer
Here are the step-by-step directions to make homemade blueberry bagels.
Step One: In a large bowl, mix the self-rising flour and Greek Yogurt mix well.
Step Two: Knead in the blueberries.
Step Three: Roll out the dough into a long log, fold it together, and seal the ends by pressing them together.
Step Four: Place the prepared bagels into a greased air fryer basket or in a greased air fryer tray. Brush the bagels with an egg wash (see instructions in the recipe card). Set the temperature to 350 degrees F, and set cook time for 10-12.
Air Fryer Blueberry Bagels Recipe Tips
- Proper Dough Consistency: Ensure the bagel dough is neither dry nor sticky. Adjust the amount of Greek yogurt or flour to achieve a smooth, elastic consistency.
- Even Distribution of Blueberries: Gently fold the dried blueberries into the dough to evenly distribute them. Avoid overmixing, as this can cause the blueberries to bleed and discolor the dough.
- Use Parchment Paper: Line the air fryer basket with parchment paper to prevent the bagels from sticking and to make cleanup easier.
- Don’t Overcrowd the Basket: Leave enough space between the bagels in the air fryer basket to allow for proper air circulation and even cooking.
- Brush with Egg Wash: For a shiny, golden-brown crust, brush the bagels with egg wash (a mixture of beaten egg and water) before air frying.
- Monitor Cooking Time: Keep an eye on the bagels as they cook, as air fryer temperatures can vary. Adjust the cooking time as needed to achieve the desired level of doneness.
- Let Them Cool: Allow the bagels to cool slightly before slicing and serving to prevent them from becoming too soft and doughy. Enjoy your homemade Air Fryer Blueberry Bagels with your favorite toppings for a delicious breakfast or snack!
Air Fried Blueberry Bagels Recipe Faqs
Can I use fresh blueberries instead of dried? While dried blueberries are recommended for Air Fried Blueberry Bagels, you can certainly experiment with fresh blueberries. However, keep in mind that fresh blueberries may release more moisture during baking and could affect the texture of the bagels.
How do I store leftover bagels? Store any leftover Air Fried Blueberry Bagels in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2-3 days. You can also freeze them for longer storage. To freeze, wrap each bagel individually in plastic wrap and then place them in a freezer-safe bag or container. Thaw in the refrigerator overnight before reheating.
Can I make these bagels without a self-rising flour? Self-rising flour contains baking powder and salt, which helps the bagels rise and develop their texture. If you don’t have self-rising flour, you can make your own by combining all-purpose flour with baking powder and salt. For every cup of all-purpose flour, mix in 1 1/2 teaspoons of baking powder and 1/4 teaspoon of salt.
Can I use non-fat Greek yogurt instead of full-fat? Full-fat Greek yogurt is recommended for Air Fried Blueberry Bagels as it provides a richer texture and flavor. However, you can use non-fat Greek yogurt if you prefer. Just be aware that the texture of the bagels may be slightly different.
Can I make savory variations of these bagels? Absolutely! While this recipe focuses on blueberry bagels, you can customize the flavorings to create savory versions. Simply omit the blueberries and add your favorite herbs, spices, or shredded cheese to the dough for a delicious savory twist.

I’ve been making these for over 2 years. Uou can also make them gluten free by exchanging the flour for gluten free flour. We make them all the time when my daughter visits. I also put the toppings on them, like poppy, sesame, and Everything but the Bagel Seasonings. 3 points on WW.

Do these need to be refrigerated?
Marcia
Made these for the first time today & they were absolutely delicious! I used low fat Greek yogurt & if my calculations are correct, that works out to only 154 calories per blueberry bagel – which is awesomely great! I’ll definitely be making more, and I thank you very much for this wonderful recipe!
Lois
That looks so easy! Must try.

This seems so much less complicated than the usual recipe for bagels – does it result in the same taste and consistency of the more traditional and lengthy process? Thanks.
Mary
They were wonderful
