Pour your cake batter into a prepared pan (spared with cooking spray or baking spray) and pour the batter in about 2/3 way full. Set into the air fryer and bake at 320 degrees F, air fryer setting, for 12 to 15 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.

Pro Tips:
- This recipe works best with 6-inch pans; the pan will make or break this recipe. Remember, an air fryer works by hot air circulating around the pan, so any thick pan that you use will leave you with a raw center. So, if you want the cake fully cooked, use a thinner cake pan that you are used to using.
- Your recipe won’t turn out right if you don’t measure your flour. A common mistake is adding too much, which can lead to an unstable dough or dough that’s too soft for baking with its elasticity compromised. Using scales instead of just eyeballing will give accurate measurements every time!
- You can substitute whole milk yogurt for the sour cream, it will taste about the same.
- You can line your cake pans with parchment paper, if you don’t have cooking spray, or want to make a layered cake.
IS FUNFETTI CAKE WHITE OR YELLOW?
It’s a white cake, right? You may think that the answer is obvious, but it turns out that there are two schools of thought on this.
The first school of thought maintains that Funfetti Cake should be yellow because “fun” and “fetti” mean different things. The second school of thought says that Funfetti Cake should be white because it’s a vanilla-white cake with sprinkles mixed in. Who is right?
If you add the egg yolks, to the cake mix, the cake will be yellow. Omitting them will give you the classic white appearance of the cake.
CAN I PUT SPRINKLES IN CAKE MIX?
Yes, you can add any sprinkles that you want. This makes for a great holiday recipe. As you just switched out, some great ideas:
- Valentine’s Day: Red, Pink, and White Sprinkles
- St. Patrick’s Day: Green and White Sprinkles
- Easter: Pastel Sprinkles
- Patriotic Holidays (4th of July, Memorial Day, Patriots Day, Labor Day) Red, Blue, and White Sprinkles.
- Halloween: Orange, Black, Purple, and White Sprinkles
- Thanksgiving: Orange, White, Red, and Brown Sprinkles
- Christmas: Red, Green, and White Sprinkles
WHAT DO YOU NEED FOR FUNFETTI CAKE?
It’s time to make a cake! Funfetti is one of the most popular flavor cakes out there. It has colorful sprinkles, white frosting, and an assortment of colors on top. You can even color your funfetti cake with natural food coloring.
Traditionally it’s a white cake, with colored sprinkles tossed in, then covered with a white buttercream frosting, and then for even more fun, sprinkle some more sprinkles on top.
