Air Fryer Homemade Apple Muffins For Two Recipe Tips
- Choose the right apples: Firm, slightly tart apples like Granny Smith or Honeycrisp hold their shape and add bright flavor.
- Don’t overmix the batter: Stir until ingredients are just combined to keep muffins tender.
- Check your air fryer size: Muffins need space to rise, so don’t overcrowd the basket.
- Adjust cook time if needed: Air fryers vary—start checking a minute or two early to avoid overbaking.
- Add a crunchy topping: Sprinkle crumb topping before air frying for extra texture and sweetness.
- Customize your spices: A pinch of nutmeg or ginger can enhance the warm apple flavor.
Storing Instructions
- Room temperature: Let muffins cool completely, then store in an airtight container for up to 2 days.
- Refrigerator: Keep muffins in an airtight container for up to 5 days; warm briefly before serving.
- Freezing: Wrap individually in plastic wrap and place in a freezer bag for up to 2 months. Thaw at room temperature or microwave for 20–30 seconds.

Air Fryer Homemade Apple Muffins For Two Recipe Faqs
Can I make more than two muffins at once? Yes! Just make sure your air fryer basket isn’t overcrowded, and adjust cooking time by 1–2 minutes for larger batches.
Can I use a different type of apple? Absolutely! Firm apples like Fuji, Honeycrisp, or Gala work best—they hold their shape and flavor well.
Can I bake these in the oven instead? Yes! Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 18–22 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
How do I store leftover muffins? Store in an airtight container at room temperature for 2 days, in the fridge for up to 5 days, or freeze for up to 2 months.
Can I make these gluten-free? Substitute all-purpose flour with a 1:1 gluten-free baking flour blend. The texture may be slightly different but still delicious.
