Lofthouse Cookies
Lofthouse Cookies are characterized by being both soft and chewy frosted cookies. The Today show did a whole segment on them, as they are one of the most beloved cookies in America.
But where did they come from? The Conagra Brand actually owns Lofthouse Cookies. They are manufactured in Odgen, Utah, in a bakery there, along with other products.
They were introduced in 1995, by Dave and Deann Stone, in Utah, and they started as most companies do in their own kitchen. In 2012 they sold their company to ConAgra Foods.
What Is In A Lofthouse Cookie?
They say that the key to a great copycat version of Lofthouse Cookies is the use of both baking soda and baking powder.
Since baking soda in cookies makes for a chewy cookie, and the baking powder in cookies makes for a moist cookies. Using both creates the moist, soft and chewy cookie, American has come to love.

Other Variations of Lofthouse Cookies:
While today, I went with the iconic pink icing. You can really use any of the rainbow colors you wish. Some other great colors for copycat versions:

What Food Colorings Should I Use?
Today, I used the food coloring you get in the baking aisle at your local grocery store.
But due to food allergies, I would recommend these dye-free ones; I have used them with great success.
How To Store Air Fryer Copycat Lofthouse Cookies
If you have any leftovers, let them cool to room temperature, and then place the leftover cookies into an airtight container.
You can leave them on the counter or refrigerate the cookies.
How To Freeze The Air Fryer Copycat Lofthouse Cookie Dough
This dough does really well frozen. You can triple the batch if you want and then freeze all of the dough or just part of it.
To freeze, wrap the dough tightly with saran wrap and then place it into a freezer bag. The dough will last for about 2 to 3 months.
To use from frozen, you can either air fry the dough or you can thaw it overnight in your refrigerator.
How To Freeze The Air Fryer Copycat Lofthouse Cookies
You can also freeze the cookies after you air-fried them. I always add the room-temperature cookies to a baking sheet (spray it with cooking spray or line it with parchment paper), then place the freezer. Freeze until frozen solid.
To use from frozen, remove them and place them on the counter until defrosted.
How To Bake Lofthouse Cookies
These also do really well in the oven. To bake them, prepare as directed, and then preheat your oven to 425 degrees F. Line your baking sheet with parchment paper.
Then bake for about 5-7 minutes. Remove when golden brown. Let cool before adding the frosting.
