Do you love jacket potatoes but hate the mess and hassle of having to preheat the oven? Then you need to try air frying them! Air frying is a great way to cook jacket potatoes without having to heat your entire kitchen. Plus, it’s a very healthy cooking method since little or no oil is needed. So give air frying a try with this easy recipe for air fryer jacket potatoes. You’ll be surprised at how delicious they are!

Air Fryer Jacket Potatoes are amazing. They are the perfect baked potato in the air fryer. And simply put they are amazing.

What Are Jacket Potaotes?

If you are wondering what a jacket potato is, I had to look it up too. One of my readers asked if I could do a jacket potato. All I could picture was a jacket on a potato. Seriously.

So after a brief email conversation with my reader, I knew that it was an English dish. Baked Potato in the United States is almost equal to the English version of Jacket Potato. The only difference is that they are much crispier than the American Baked POtato. Which is a perfect job for the air fryer.

Jacket Potatoes are known for their crispy skin, and unlike Air Fryer baked potatoes it is really important that you oil, salt, and poke holes into the potato since you will be air frying them longer.

What Are Jacket Potatoes Called in America?

What are jacket potatoes called in America? This is a question that many people have been asking. In Amerca, we call them “baked potatoes.” In the UK they are referred to as “jacket potatoes” and this is why there has been so much confusion.

Which potatoes are best for jacket potatoes?

There are over 100 different types of potatoes, but most people only know a few. Russet potatoes are the most popular type in the U.S., but there are many others that can be used for cooking.

Some great options for Jacket Potaotes are Yukon Gold Potato, Red Potaotes, Blue/Purple Potaotes and of course the Russet Potato.

Why isn’t my jacket potato crispy?

I’m sure you’ve all had the experience of trying to make a jacket potato, but when it comes out of the oven it’s not crispy. This can be disappointing and frustrating! I was having this issue myself until I realized that adding a small amount of olive oil over the exterior, will help perfectly cook up your potato.
