Air Fryer Copycat Dunkin Donuts Chocolate Glazed Donuts are amazing. They are my favorite donuts that I have made thus far in the air fryer.
Most of my readers know I am from Boston, where Dunkin Donuts is on every corner. When I moved to Philadelphia, I missed my daily drive-by, and of course, besides the coffee, I missed getting a Dunkin Donut Glazed Chocolate Donut.
Donuts in the Air Fryer are impressive; today, I used yeast, and if you have time to spare, they are a great afternoon or evening treat. Most of the time is waiting for the dough to rise, so once you make the dough, you can forget about it for a while. I usually start the donuts before dinner and finish after dinner for a quick dessert since they air fry so quickly.
Some of my other air fryer donut recipes include Air Fryer Fruity Pebbles Donuts and one of my favorite creations, Air Fryer Strawberry Jelly Donuts.

How To Make Copycat Dunkin Donuts Chocolate Glazed Donuts
Here are the step-by-step instructions:
Step One: Start by making the dough. In a large mixing bowl, add the milk, yeast, and one tablespoon of sugar. Wait for about 10 minutes for it to start to foam. Add sugar, egg, melted butter, and egg. Stir until completely combined. Using a dough hook, add the flour slowly, allowing it to mix at low speed until the dough starts to come together.
Step Two: Once mixed, increase speed to medium and knead it until dough forms into a ball. Place the dough in a large oiled bowl and cover with a damp towel. Let the dough double in size for about an hour.
Step Three: Once the dough has been raised, remove and roll it out on a floured surface until it is 1/2 thick. Using a circle cutter or a wide-mouth mason jar, cut 10-12 donuts out. Using a smaller hole cutter, punch out a hole in each donut.
Step Four: Place donuts on a rack and cover with plastic wrap. Allow the donuts to rise for about 20 to 30 minutes.
Step Five: Spray the air fryer basket with cooking spray. Place two donuts in the basket leaving room to expand. Spray the donut with cooking spray and cook at 350 degrees F, air fryer setting, set cook time for 7-8, flipping halfway during the cooking process.
Step Six: Remove donuts and using fork, dip the donuts halfway into the frosting. Place back on the rack to let sit, it will harden as it dries.
Dunkin Donuts Chocolate Glazed Donuts Recipe Tips
- Use Fresh Ingredients: Ensure your baking powder and yeast are fresh for the best rise and texture.
- Chill the Dough: After mixing the dough, allow it to chill in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes.
- Roll Evenly: Roll the dough to an even thickness (about 1/2 inch) for uniform donuts.
- Use a Donut Cutter: A proper donut cutter or two round cookie cutters (one larger and one smaller) will give you perfectly shaped donuts with a hole in the middle.
- Glaze While Warm: For the best glaze adherence, dip the donuts in the chocolate glaze while they are still warm.
- Store Properly: To keep your donuts fresh, store them in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 days. For longer storage, consider freezing them before glazing.
- Customize Your Glaze: Feel free to experiment with the chocolate glaze by adding ingredients like espresso powder for a mocha flavor or a splash of vanilla extract for extra depth.
- Add Toppings: For a fun twist, sprinkle toppings like crushed nuts, sprinkles, or shredded coconut on the glaze before it sets.
