Easy Pioneer Woman’s Cheeseburger Pie Recipe Tips

  • Use lean ground beef: Reduces excess grease and keeps the pie from being too oily.
  • Cheese variations: Try cheddar, Monterey Jack, or pepper jack for different flavors.
  • Add toppings: Bacon bits, pickles, or caramelized onions can be added before baking for extra flavor.
  • Don’t overmix the batter: Pour it gently over the beef and cheese layers to keep a light, fluffy crust.
  • Make ahead: Assemble the pie ahead of time and refrigerate until ready to bake.
  • Check doneness: The crust should be golden brown and firm in the center before serving.
  • Serve with sides: Pair with a crisp salad, fries, or roasted veggies for a complete meal.

Storing, Freezing & Reheating Instructions

  • Storing: Store leftover pie in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Keep it covered to maintain freshness and prevent it from drying out.
  • Freezing: Wrap the cooled pie tightly in plastic wrap and aluminum foil, then freeze for up to 2 months. Label with the date for easy reference.
  • Reheating: Reheat slices in a 350°F oven for 10–15 minutes until warmed through. Avoid microwaving for too long to keep the crust from becoming soggy.
