Bacon Bourbon Bars–This is an amazing recipe full and full of flavor, if you love Bacon this is a great dessert.


  • 12 oz center cut bacon – diced
  • 2 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon baking powder
  • ½ cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, at room temperature
  • ½ cup reserved bacon fat (or shortening)
  • ¾ cup packed brown sugar 
  • 3 tablespoons bourbon
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs
  • 8 oz dark chocolate, chopped or shaved


  1. Cook bacon, in a skillet, air fryer, or oven until golden brown and crisp
  2. Place bacon on a paper towel-lined plate
  3. If possible, reserve ½ cup of bacon fat and refrigerate until solid
  4. Preheat oven to 375 degrees F 
  5. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, salt, and baking powder
  6. In a separate, larger bowl, use an electric mixer to combine the butter, bacon fat, sugars, bourbon, and vanilla
  7. Mix in the eggs, one at a time, until well combined
  8. Beat in the flour mixture
  9. Stir in the bacon and chocolate
  10. For cookies, drop by rounded tablespoonfuls onto a parchment paper-lined cookie sheet
  11. For bars, evenly smooth batter into a parchment paper-lined baking pan
  12. Bake until golden brown
  13. Let cool completely, then store in an airtight container for up to 5 days or the freezer for up to 6 weeks
