Meatloaf Mixture:

Start by combining your ground turkey, bread crumbs, egg, finely chopped onion, minced garlic, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and black pepper in a large mixing bowl. Mix the ingredients until they are well combined, but be careful not to overwork the meat, as this can make the meatloaf dense

Shaping the Meatloaf:

Once mixed, spray a small loaf pan with cooking spray, or shape the turkey mixture into a loaf form. Ensure it’s a shape and size will comfortably fit within your air fryer basket.

Glaze (if using):

In a separate bowl, prepare your glaze by mixing ingredients like ketchup, brown sugar, or other preferred sauce components. Brush half of this mixture over the meatloaf. Reserve the other half for later.

Air Frying:

Preheat your air fryer temperature to 370 degrees F (188°C) for 3-5 minutes, using air fry function.

Place the meatloaf into the bottom of the air fryer basket and set the cooking time for 15-20 minutes.

Glazing Again:

After the initial 15 minutes, brush the remainder of the glaze or barbecue sauce over the top of the meatloaf.

Please return it to the air fryer and cook for another 5-10 minutes or until the internal temperature of the meatloaf reaches 165°F (74°C); use a meat thermometer before removing the meatloaf.

Cooling & Serving:

Once done, carefully remove the meatloaf from the air fryer and place it on a serving plate.

Let it rest for about 5 minutes. This allows the juices to be redistributed, ensuring a moist meatloaf.

Slice, serve, and enjoy!

Note: Cooking times can vary based on the specific air fryer model and the meatloaf size. Always ensure that the meatloaf is cooked through by checking its internal temperature.

Savor the delightful blend of flavors and the air fryer’s unique texture. This turkey meatloaf is a healthier alternative and a quicker and more flavorful one!

Pro Tips For Cooking Turkey Meatloaf In The Air Fryer

  • Avoid Overmixing: When combining your ingredients, mix just until they’re incorporated. Overmixing can result in a dense, less tender meatloaf.
  • Consistent Shape: Try to shape your meatloaf evenly to ensure uniform cooking. A more cylindrical shape, rather than too flat or too tall, works best in the air fryer.
  • Check Temperature: Use a meat thermometer to check the internal temperature of your meatloaf. Aim for 165°F (74°C) to ensure it’s fully cooked.
  • Rest Before Slicing: After cooking, let your meatloaf rest for about 5 minutes. This allows the juices to be redistributed, making for moist slices.
  • Customize Your Flavors: Feel free to experiment with seasonings, herbs, or even cheese in your meatloaf mixture to customize it to your taste.
  • Glaze Variations: You can switch up the glaze by adding elements like smoked paprika, chili powder, or a dash of hot sauce for a kick.
  • Moisture Matters: If your mixture feels too dry, consider adding a splash of broth or a bit of grated zucchini. If it’s too wet, more breadcrumbs should do the trick.
