- Milk: Incorporates moisture into the batter, helping to create a smooth, unified dough. Any type of milk, including non-dairy alternatives, can be used.

Pro Tips
For those looking to perfect their Air Fryer Strawberry Donuts, here are some pro tips that can elevate your donut-making experience and ensure delicious results every time:
- Opt for Fresh Strawberries: While you can use frozen strawberries in a pinch, fresh strawberries will give your donuts and glaze a more vibrant flavor and color. If using frozen strawberries, make sure to thaw and drain them well to remove excess water.
- Sift Your Dry Ingredients: To avoid any lumps in your batter and ensure a smooth, uniform texture, sift the flour, baking powder, and salt together before mixing them with the wet ingredients.
- Do Not Overmix the Batter: Overmixing the batter can lead to tough donuts. Mix just until the dry and wet ingredients are combined, and it’s okay if the batter is a bit lumpy.
- Use a Piping Bag for Even Shapes: For a cleaner, more uniform shape, transfer your batter to a piping bag and pipe it into your donut molds or onto your parchment paper. This method helps control the size and shape of your donuts, ensuring they cook evenly.
- Preheat Your Air Fryer: Although not all air fryer models require preheating, doing so can help achieve a more consistent cooking temperature, leading to evenly cooked donuts.
- Check Donuts Early: Air fryers can vary in their cooking times, so start checking your donuts for doneness a minute or two before the suggested time. They should be lightly golden and spring back when touched.
- Cool Before Glazing: Allow your donuts to cool for a few minutes before glazing. If the donuts are too hot, the glaze may melt off. However, don’t let them cool completely; a slightly warm donut will help the glaze adhere better and soak in slightly.
- Adjust Glaze Consistency: If your glaze is too thick, add a little more strawberry puree or a few drops of milk to thin it out. If it’s too thin, add more powdered sugar until you reach the desired consistency.
- Decorate with Fresh Strawberry Pieces: For an extra touch of elegance and flavor, top your glazed donuts with small pieces of fresh strawberry or a sprinkle of freeze-dried strawberry powder.
- Store Properly: If you have leftovers, store them in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 days. The glaze may soften the donuts over time, so they’re best enjoyed fresh.
By following these tips, you’ll create Air Fryer Strawberry Donuts that are not only delicious and flavorful but also boast a professional look and texture, sure to impress anyone who tries them.
Faq’s
Can I use frozen strawberries instead of fresh? Yes, you can use frozen strawberries. Just ensure they are fully thawed and excess liquid is drained to prevent the batter from becoming too wet.
How do I prevent the donuts from sticking to the air fryer? Use parchment paper with holes or lightly grease the air fryer basket with cooking spray. If you have silicone donut molds that fit your air fryer, those can also prevent sticking.
Can I make these donuts gluten-free? Absolutely. Substitute the all-purpose flour with your favorite gluten-free flour blend. Just be aware that textures might vary slightly depending on the blend used.
Can I make the batter ahead of time? It’s best to make and cook the batter immediately to ensure the leavening agent works effectively. However, you can prepare the strawberry puree ahead of time and store it in the refrigerator.
How do I know when the donuts are done cooking? The donuts should be lightly golden and spring back when gently pressed. You can also insert a toothpick into the center of a donut; if it comes out clean, they’re done.
My donuts didn’t rise well, what went wrong? Ensure your baking powder is fresh, as expired baking powder can result in flat donuts. Also, be careful not to overfill your molds or overmix the batter.
Can I double the recipe? Yes, you can double the recipe, but you may need to cook the donuts in multiple batches to avoid overcrowding the air fryer, which can affect how evenly they cook.
How should I store leftover donuts? Store any leftover donuts in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 days. The glaze may soften the donuts slightly over time.
Can I use other types of fruit for this recipe? Definitely! You can experiment with other berry purees such as raspberries or blueberries. Adjust the sugar in the glaze to taste, depending on the fruit’s tartness.
The glaze is too runny/thick. How can I fix it? If the glaze is too runny, gradually add more powdered sugar until you achieve the desired consistency. If it’s too thick, thin it out with a little more strawberry puree or a few drops of milk.
