How To Make Air Fryer Single Serve Monkey Bread

Defrosted rolls on counter being cut into four pieces each

Step One: Start by letting the rolls defrost, just leave them on the counter, for a few hours. Then, cut each roll into 4 pieces.

Step Two: In a small mixing bowl, add the sugar and ground cinnamon, and mix well. In another small bowl, melt the butter (I used the microwave) and mix in the brown sugar. Roll the dough into a ball.

Step Three: Dip the dough balls into the cinnamon sugar mixture, then place in a greased (sprayed with non-stick cooking spray) ramekin. Continue until you use up all of the dough. Then, pour the melted butter and ground cinnamon sugar over the top.

Step Four: Set the ramekins into the air fryer basket and set cook time for 7-10 minutes at air fryer temperature of 330 degrees F, air fryer setting. Check to make sure the dough is fully cooked before removing it. If not, add another few minutes.

Air Fryer Single Serve Monkey Bread Recipe Tips

  • Use a suitable ramekin: Make sure it fits comfortably in your air fryer basket.
  • Evenly coat dough balls: Roll each piece thoroughly in cinnamon sugar for maximum flavor.
  • Check doneness early: Air fryer models vary, so start checking at 7 minutes to prevent overcooking.
  • Serve warm: Monkey bread tastes best straight from the air fryer for gooey, pull-apart texture.
  • Optional add-ins: Sprinkle chopped nuts, mini chocolate chips, or drizzle caramel on top for extra indulgence.

Storing Instructions

  • Room Temperature: Best served immediately; can sit covered for up to 1 hour.
  • Refrigerator: Store in an airtight container for up to 1 day; reheat gently in the air fryer for 1–2 minutes.
  • Freezing: Not recommended; the gooey texture may be lost.

Other Cooking Instructions

  • Microwave Option: If you don’t have an air fryer, cook the monkey bread in the microwave for 60–90 seconds, checking at 60 seconds to avoid overcooking.
  • Extra Gooey: Drizzle a little extra melted butter and sprinkle additional cinnamon sugar before cooking for a stickier, richer texture.
  • Toppings: Top with whipped cream, caramel drizzle, or a handful of chopped nuts for added indulgence.
  • Flavor Variations: Add mini chocolate chips, chopped pecans, or a pinch of nutmeg to the cinnamon sugar for a fun twist.

Air Fryer Single Serve Monkey Bread Recipe Faqs

Can I make more than one serving at a time? Yes, divide dough into multiple ramekins and cook each separately for even baking.

How do I know when it’s done? The top should be golden and set, and a toothpick inserted should come out clean.

Can I prep the dough ahead of time? Yes, cut the rolls into pieces and store in the fridge for a few hours; coat in cinnamon sugar just before cooking.

Can I use frozen rolls? Yes, but make sure they are fully defrosted before cutting and coating in cinnamon sugar.

Can I freeze the finished monkey bread? Freezing is not recommended; the gooey texture may be lost. Serve fresh for best results.
