Air Fryer Blueberry Muffin Mug Cake Recipe Tips

  • Use fresh or frozen blueberries: Fresh gives a juicy burst, frozen works too—just don’t thaw them.
  • Don’t overfill the ramekin: Fill about 2/3 full to prevent overflowing while air frying.
  • Adjust cooking time: Air fryer models vary, check at 6 minutes and add more if needed.
  • Optional sparkling sugar: Sprinkle on top for a lightly crunchy, sweet finish.
  • Serve immediately: Mug cakes are best warm right out of the air fryer.
  • Flavor variations: Add lemon zest or cinnamon for a twist on the classic.

Storing Instructions

  • Room Temperature: Best enjoyed immediately. Mug cakes tend to dry out if left out too long.
  • Refrigerator: Store in an airtight container for up to 1–2 days. Reheat in the air fryer or microwave for 20–30 seconds.
  • Freezer: Not recommended for mug cakes, as texture may become dense or soggy after thawing.

Air Fryer Blueberry Muffin Mug Cake Recipe Faqs

Can I use frozen blueberries? Yes! You can use frozen blueberries directly in the batter without thawing. Just expect a slightly moister cake.

Can I make this without an air fryer? Absolutely! Bake in a preheated oven at 320°F for 12–15 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.

Can I make this dairy-free? Substitute the milk with any plant-based milk and use a dairy-free butter alternative.

Can I double the recipe? You can double the ingredients, but cook in separate ramekins and avoid overcrowding the air fryer basket.

Can I add other mix-ins? Yes! Try chocolate chips, chopped nuts, or a dash of cinnamon for flavor variations.

How do I know when it’s done? Insert a toothpick into the center. If it comes out clean, your mug cake is ready.
