How To Make Air Fryer Bison Steak Medallions
Start by placing your steak at room temperature for about 15 to 20 minutes.
Then turn on your air fryer, and preheat for about 5 to 7 minutes at 400 degrees F, air fryer setting, for at least 5 minutes. Or whatever your air fryer manual recommends.
Rub the olive oil or butter all over the Bison, and season with salt, black pepper, and your seasonings.
Set the steaks in the air fryer for 10 minutes, flipping halfway during the cooking process. Remove when the internal temperature reaches 160 degrees F.
Let the steak rest for about 5 minutes, before slicing.
Pro Tips:
- For best results, preheat your air fryer, this way, it starts searing the outside before it cooks the steak.
- Season generously with salt and black pepper.
- It makes rue use a meat thermometer to check the steak’s internal temperature before removing it from the air fryer.
- This recipe will work in the Ninja Foodi, Instant Pot Vortex, air fryer basket, and air fryer oven models. The cooking time may be changed by a minute or two.
- You can easily serve this with a butter compound mixture for even more flavor.
How long do I need to rest the steaks?
The average time is about 4 to 8 minutes, for a steak to be rested enough to cut into.
Letting the steaks rest makes the juices run into the middle. This way, when you cut the steaks, the juices all don’t rush out, leaving your steak in the middle dry.
How do you reheat bison steak?
You can easily throw the steak back into the air fryer to reheat or add it to the microwave to reheat.
Make sure that you coat the steak with either melted butter or olive oil so the steak does not dry out, and you won’t forget to add more seasoning.
How long do you store leftover bison steak?
If you have any leftover bison steak, let it cool to room temperature, and then place it into an airtight container.
Place the container into the refrigerator, where it will last for about 1 to 2 days.

The Bison steaks came out to perfection. I followed the recipe to a tee although my ribeyes were thinner and it only took 8 minutes and I used a little olive oil. I paired them with a Caesar salad and air fryer seasoned orange bell pepper slices.

How is the steak done? Medium? Medium rare? Rare? That’s a big deal to my family.

You have to use a meat thermometer, it depends on a lot of factors such as how thick the steak is, what air fryer you use.
