Air Fryer Vegan Philly Wrap Recipe Tips

  • Use Firm Plant-Based Protein: Choose a sturdy vegan “steak” or seitan that holds up when cooked with peppers and onions.
  • Slice Veggies Thinly: Thin strips of peppers, mushrooms, and onions cook evenly and make wrapping easier.
  • Preheat the Air Fryer: A hot air fryer ensures the tortilla gets crispy without overcooking the filling.
  • Don’t Overfill: Keep the filling moderate to prevent the wrap from spilling or tearing during cooking.
  • Season Well: Bold seasonings and a splash of vegan Worcestershire or soy sauce really elevate the Philly flavor.
  • Optional Cheese: Add a slice of vegan cheese or Daiya shreds for extra creaminess and authentic Philly taste.
  • Serve Immediately: The wrap is at its crispiest right out of the air fryer; leftovers can get a bit soft if stored and reheated.

Storing, Freezing and Reheating Instructions

  • Storing: Keep leftover Air Fryer Vegan Philly Wraps in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. This helps maintain the flavor and prevents the tortilla from getting soggy.
  • Freezing: Wrap each vegan Philly wrap tightly in foil or plastic wrap before freezing. Store in a freezer-safe bag or container for up to 1 month.
  • Reheating: Reheat in the air fryer at 350°F for 5–7 minutes until warmed through and crispy. You can also microwave briefly, but the tortilla won’t stay as crisp.
