Copycat Jason Deli Beef Stew Recipe Tips

  • Beef To Use: The best part of the beef stew is the meat; if you give a quick sear to the meat, you will have a more flavorful dish. To sear your meat, just add the olive oil to the Instant Pot bowl, press the saute button, allow the bowl to heat up, and then take your meat and saute it for a few minutes.
  • Slow or Natural Release: For more flavor, let the beef stew naturally release, as it allows for all of the flavors to come together.
  • Want A Thicker Stew? For a thicker stew, add a cornstarch slurry at the end, and mix 2 tablespoons of cornstarch and 2 tablespoons of water in a small bowl. While the stew is hot, mix the cornstarch slurry into the soup. The beef stew will thicken up.

Copycat Jason Deli Beef Stew Recipe Faqs

Can I make this beef stew in advance? Yes! This stew tastes even better the next day as the flavors continue to meld. Store it in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days.

Can I freeze this beef stew? Absolutely. Let it cool completely, then freeze in a freezer-safe container for up to 2–3 months. Thaw in the fridge and reheat gently on the stovetop.

What cut of beef works best? Chuck roast or stew meat is ideal because it becomes tender and flavorful when simmered in the stew.

Can I use a slow cooker instead of an Instant Pot? Yes! Brown the beef first, then cook in a slow cooker on low for 6–8 hours or high for 3–4 hours until tender.

Can I make it spicier or add more flavor? Definitely! Add extra garlic, paprika, cayenne, or fresh herbs to suit your taste preferences.

What can I serve with this beef stew? It pairs wonderfully with crusty bread, mashed potatoes, or over egg noodles for a hearty meal.
