I love mug cakes in my air fryer, they are easy and they are fabulous. Today, I am going to show you one of my favorite recipes for Air Fryer Red Velvet Mug Cake.

If you are not familiar with mug cakes, they are simply one person serving a cake, inside of a mug, hence the name mug cake.

Today, I show you how to make a simple mug cake, using nothing more than cake mix and apple sauce. I topped mine off with some whipped cream, which makes for a perfect dessert for one.

Air Fryer Red Velvet Mug Cake

Ingredients:

  • 6 tablespoons red velvet cake mix
  • 3 tablespoons unsweetened applesauce
  • Optional: Frosting or whipped cream

Directions:

Here are the simple steps to make it in your own air fryer,

In an oven proof mug, mix the cake mix and applesauce. Mix until well combined.
Set into the air fryer for 5-7 minutes at 350 degree F (air fryer setting)

I added whipped cream since I had some on hand, but if you do not or want some frosting, that would work as well. This cake will go well with anything!

Remember each air fryer is slightly different, so remember to check your cake, and make sure it’s fully cooked before you remove it, from the air fryer. Once you figure out the exact time and temperature of your Red Velvet Cake, you will be able to make hundreds more! It’s a fun and easy dessert, and a great treat for the kids.

I purchased a great set of mugs, which are oven proof, (which generally means air fryer safe)
