Air Fryer Shake and Bake Fried Pickles Recipe Tips
- For extra crunch, double-dip the pickles in egg wash and seasoning.
- Use paper towels to pat pickles dry before coating to prevent sogginess.
- Preheat the air fryer for even cooking and crispiness.
- Flip halfway through cooking to ensure all sides get golden.
- Serve immediately for the best texture; dipping sauces like ranch or spicy mayo are perfect.
Storing Instructions
- Store leftover fried pickles in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 days.
- Reheat in the air fryer at 375°F for 3–5 minutes to regain crispiness.
- Avoid microwaving, as it will make the pickles soggy.

Air Fryer Shake and Bake Fried Pickles Recipe Faqs
Can I use regular flour instead of Shake and Bake? Yes! You can coat the pickles in a seasoned flour mixture, but Shake and Bake gives extra crunch and flavor.
Can I make these ahead of time? You can prep the pickles with the coating ahead of time and refrigerate for a few hours before air frying.
How to bake in the oven: Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it. Arrange the coated pickles in a single layer, spray lightly with cooking oil, and bake for 12–15 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden and crispy.
What dipping sauces work best? Ranch, spicy mayo, or a tangy aioli pair perfectly with the crispy pickles.
Can I adjust the spice level? Absolutely! Add cayenne, paprika, or chili powder to the Shake and Bake mixture to suit your taste.

I have never eaten a fried pickle. Whenever I saw fried pickles on a menu I would say, “yuk, who would eat that!” Well, count me in as one who now eats them, thanks to your recipe, Laurie! I bought the huge jar of b&b pickles at Costco thinking I’ll never finish the jar. I searched for recipes for pickles and found fried pickles and I wanted to try. Way, way too much work, time and ingredients and I was ready to pass. Up popped your recipe and I began making the fried pickles. Obviously taste-wise, I can’t compare any but these were so easy and fried up with a non-greasy, crunch with the edges having a bit more crunch. You have now gained a convert to fried pickles and I’m making them as appetizers for a party next weekend.
