Using a spoon or cookie scoop, portion out the cookie dough onto a baking tray or directly into the air fryer basket. Make sure to leave some space between the cookies for them to spread.
Place the tray or basket in the air fryer and bake the cookies for about 5-6 minutes, depending on your air fryer’s temperature settings and the desired level of doneness. Keep an eye on the cookies as they bake to prevent overcooking.

How Does An Air Fryer Bake?
The air fryer and a convectional oven actually operate pretty much the same. The hot air circulates in the air fryer basket. The cookie is crisping up while the hot air is circulating the basket.
This means an even cooking temperature in the air fryer. This means that cookies do really well since they are cooked from the outside in. This causes the cookies to stay moist inside while crisping up on the outside.
Can I Bake Cookies In The Air Fryer Basket?
Yes, you really can quite easily. You need to pick up an Air Fryer Parchment Paper package made just for air fryer cookie baking. It does not have holes. You must line the basket with the paper and weigh it accordingly.
Place the cookies around the paper so there is no chance that the parchment paper will blow into the heating element.
Can I Bake Cookies In The Ninja Foodi?
Yes, follow the directions above, and line your basket. I did find that you will probably want to check your cookies about halfway.
The Ninja Foodi’s Design causes most baked goods to cook faster than other air fryers. So, check frequently so you do not end up with a plate of burnt cookies.
How To Warm Cookies In Air Fryer
If you want to heat them for the family, I put mine in for 2 to 3 minutes at 300 degrees F or until warmed. Great for a special treat for the family.

Pro Tips For The Best Air Fryer Oatmeal Raisin Cookies
Here are some pro tips to help you achieve the best results when making oatmeal raisin cookies in an air fryer:
- Use Rolled Oats: Opt for old-fashioned rolled oats instead of quick oats for better texture and chewiness in your cookies.
- Soak Raisins: If using raisins, consider soaking them in warm water for a few minutes, then patting them dry before adding them to the dough. This prevents the raisins from stealing moisture from the cookies during baking.
- Chill the Dough: For better cookie consistency, chill the cookie dough in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes before shaping and baking. This helps the cookies retain shape and prevents excessive spreading in the air fryer.
- Flatten the Cookies: Gently flatten the cookie dough balls before placing them in the air fryer. This will help them cook evenly and prevent overly thick centers.
- Even Spacing: Arrange the cookie dough portions on the air fryer tray or basket with sufficient spacing between them. This ensures proper air circulation and even cooking.
- Test with a Few: Start by baking a small batch of cookies to gauge the optimal cooking time for your specific air fryer model. Adjust the timing as needed before baking the full batch.
- Rotate the Tray: If your air fryer has a top and bottom tray, consider rotating the trays halfway through baking to ensure even browning.
- Check Early: Keep a close eye on the cookies as they approach the end of the recommended baking time. Air fryers can cook faster than traditional ovens, and you don’t want your cookies to over-brown.
- Cool Before Removing: Allow the cookies to cool on the air fryer tray or basket for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack. They will continue to firm up as they cool.
- Experiment with Settings: You can experiment with temperature and time depending on your air fryer’s settings and your desired cookie texture. Consider baking at a slightly lower temperature if you prefer softer cookies.
- Use Parchment Paper: If your air fryer tends to cause sticking, line the air fryer tray or basket with parchment paper. This will prevent the cookies from sticking and make cleanup easier.
- Enjoy Fresh: Air fryer cookies are best enjoyed fresh or within a day or two of baking. Store any leftovers in an airtight container to maintain their texture.
By following these pro tips, you’ll be on your way to creating delicious, chewy, and perfectly baked oatmeal raisin cookies using your air fryer.
