How To Make Cheese Crisps In The Air Fryer
Cut them into squares (one piece of cheese will give you 4 crackers)
Place the cut cheese on either a parchment-lined air fryer basket or tray. Set the temperature to 350 degrees F for 5 minutes (using the air frying setting) Let cool, before removing, as they will harden up.
Pro Tips For The Best Air Fryer Cheese Crackers
- Harden: These chips will harden as they cool, be careful not to overcook the crackers.
- Timing: Since every air fryer cooks slightly differently, it’s important that you watch your food as it cooks up.
- Parchment Paper: You will need parchment paper for this recipe since otherwise, the cheese will melt through the basket. Look for unbleached parchment paper.
- Crowding: Do not crowd the air fryer basket, otherwise the cheese will not crisp up. Leave some space around the crisps, so the hot air can circulate around the cracker, causing it to crisp up.
Seasonings: You can add a lot of seasonings for these crackers, some of my favorites are Trader Joe’s Everything But the Bagel, garlic salt, onion powder, and even Lawry’s Seasoning.
Storing and Freezing Crackers
To Store: Store your cheese crackers in an airtight container, and they will stay fresh for at least 3 days. Store the crackers in the refrigerator.
To Freeze: These freeze well. Let the cheese crackers cool to room temperature, and then place them on a parchment-lined baking sheet. Place the baking sheet into the freezer, and freezer until the crackers are frozen solid. Remove and place the frozen crackers into a freezer bag or freezer-safe container. They will last for 1 to 2 months.
To Reheat: You should not reheat these crackers. Let the crackers thaw at room temperature, or overnight in the refrigerator.
