What’s in Pizza Bake?
A pizza bake is simply a dish with all of the ingredients in a traditional pizza but is rather baked in a casserole dish or baking pan.
The main ingredients are dough, sauce, cheese, and toppings. You can choose whatever toppings you want; today, I went with simple pepperoni slices.
Since you are cooking this in the Air Fryer, you can literally make one for each member of your family. They cook up so quickly.
The key to this recipe is that you use a thin pan, so the entire pizza bake can cook up.
Ingredients In Air Fryer Pepperoni Pizza Bake
- Pillsbury Biscuits
- Marinara Sauce
- Shredded Mozzarella Cheese
- Pepperoni Slices
How To Make Air Fryer Pepperoni Pizza Bake
Start by spraying your air fryer-safe pan with non-stick cooking spray.
Cut each biscuit dough piece into 8 pieces (so one round biscuit becomes 8 pieces)
In a small bowl, mix the pizza sauce and 1 cup of mozzarella cheese. Toss your biscuit dough into the mixture and coat the entire piece of dough.
As you coat the dough with the sauce/cheese, place it into your prepared pan.
Finish it with all of the dough. On the top, cover it with pepperoni slices. Sprinkle the pepperoni with 1 cup of cheese. Place the filled pan in the air fryer.
Set the temperature to 275 degrees F for 15 minutes. After 15 minutes, check and make sure all of the dough is cooked. If not, add another 3 minutes.
Can I Use Different Toppings?
Yes, you can make this pizza bake with a variety of toppings. Some of my family’s favorites would be:
- Cooked Italian Sausage
- Cooked–Green Peppers and Onions
- Cooked Ham and Pineapple
Can I Prepare This in Advance?
Yes, you can make this and then reheat it in the microwave. This makes for a great and quick make-ahead meal.
I would not recommend freezing this, as it will get too watery.
Tips for Making Pizza Bake
The most important thing I would tell you is you need to use a thin pan for cooking up fully.
The air fryer operates by hot air spinning around the baking pan. If it’s too thick, the hot air will never get into the center, causing you to get raw dough.
