Everyone loves pizza. Not everyone loves making pizza, but everyone loves eating it! So, today, I took a piece of pita bread and made a Simple Air Fryer Pita Pizza, which was done in less than 6 minutes.
It can be topped with anything, just like a regular pizza. Pizza night will never be the same again, and now with the kids home, you can make an easy lunch for them.
Pita pizzas come out fabulously in the air fryer, as the air fryer really crisps up the pita bread, making for a perfect pizza. The cheese also melts really well, so it’s easy and delicious. (My two favorite words)
You could use the same recipe but substitute the pita bread for naan bread. Air Fryer naan pizza is amazing too.

Some Common Questions Asked About Air Fryer Pita Pizzas
Making Air Fryer Pita Pizza Ahead Of Time:
These are great if you want to make them ahead of time. This way, when you get home from work, picking the kids up, anything, you can pop them into the air fryer.
Just place them into the refrigerator after assembling them, and cover them with saran wrap.
You could even have a pizza party, where you prep all of the pizza and then let the guests add toppings. Since they take less than 10 minutes, you could feed a whole crowd.
How To Store Air Fryer Pita Pizzas:
If you do not finish your pita pizza, simply cool to room temperature, place it in a Ziploc bag, and place it in the refrigerator.
To heat up, either use the microwave or air fryer.
How To Freeze Air Fryer Pita Pizzas:
These freeze amazingly well. I once made about 10 and froze them for my son when I was going out of town for a few days. He loved the ease of them, and they are so much cheaper than store-bought frozen pizza.
To Freeze: Assemble and then instead of air frying them. Place them on a greased baking sheet. Then, place the baking sheet into the freezer, and when they are frozen solid, add to a Freezer Bag. Place a piece of wax paper in between them so they stay separated.
When you want to use one or two, remove the frozen pizza from the air fryer and set it into the air fryer, and air fry them—no need to thaw.
Some Topping Ideas:
If you are looking for some inspiration, here are some of my family’s favorite pizza toppings:
- Green Peppers and Onions
- Ham and Pineapple
- Sliced sausages
- Barbecue Chicken
- Garlic and Ranch
There are so many other ideas; you could literally have a pizza every day for a year and switch out the toppings! Great for kids!!

- Start by laying out your pita bread, then spread the sauce over it. Sprinkle mozzarella cheese over it, then set the air fryer for 360 degrees F, and air fry for 6 minutes.
