Stuffed mushrooms are a delicious appetizer that’s great for entertaining. They’re versatile and can be filled with just about anything you like, such as seafood or meats, but the most popular way to stuff them is with cheese. When making stuffed mushrooms, the most important thing is to make sure they’re cooked until browned and crispy on the outside while remaining juicy on the inside. How to Clean Mushrooms

Mushrooms are a delicious and versatile ingredient in many dishes. But no matter how they’re cooked, there’s always a little bit of dirt left behind.

A quick way to clean them is by using a wet paper towel or dish towel and quickly washing them with water. You do not want to waterlog your mushrooms. Otherwise, you will end up with a soggy mess.

Dry the mushrooms before you use them to stuff them.

Variations:

Mushrooms:

I used a simple batch of white button mushrooms, but this recipe will work with any mushrooms. Some great ones are Portobello Mushrooms, Cremini Mushrooms, or Brown Mushrooms.

Filling:

I used a simple bread crumb filling, but you can add anything. Some great additions include bacon, cheese, and even ground-cooked sausage or meat.

Other Fillings:

If you want to add some other outstanding filings, you could use any of the following for a different type of stuffed mushroom:

  • Spinach, Cream Cheese, and Parmesan Cheese
  • Goat Cheese, Bread Crumbs
  • Crabmeat
  • Jalapeno Peppers and Cream Cheese
  • Italian Sausage
  • Seafood

How To Store Leftover Stuffed Mushrooms

Do you have a bunch of stuffed mushrooms left over from the holidays? Don’t let them go to waste! Here are some tips for storing leftover stuffed mushrooms.

The best way to store leftover stuffing is in an airtight sealable container, either plastic or glass. Place the lid on tightly and refrigerate for up to three days.
