There is nothing better for lunch than a sandwich filled with tomatoes, fresh basil, and melted mozzarella cheese, served with a drizzle of balsamic vinegar. Today’s lunch a simple but delicious combination of flavors. I created the perfect Air Fryer Caprese Sandwich.

If you have never had a Caprese Salad, which is where the inspiration for this sandwich comes from, its classical ingredients include:

  • Tomatoes
  • Mozzarella Cheese
  • Fresh Basil

Today, I took the ingredients from the classical Caprese salad and placed them in between two slices of bread, drizzled with some balsamic vinegar, and air-fried it up.

It was a delicious sandwich; my kids really loved it. What Is A Caprese Sandwich?

A Caprese sandwich is a type of Italian sandwich that is made with fresh mozzarella, tomatoes, and basil. The sandwich is usually made with crusty bread, such as ciabatta or focaccia, and is often served with olive oil and balsamic vinegar. While the exact origin of the sandwich is unknown, it is believed to have originated in the city of Naples. Today, the sandwich is a popular dish in Italy and around the world. In addition to being a delicious meal, the Caprese sandwich is also a beautiful one, as the red, white, and green ingredients often resemble the colors of the Italian flag.
