How To Make Air Fryer Blue Cheese Meatballs
Spray your air fryer basket with cooking spray and set it aside. Mix all ingredients in a large mixing bowl until just combined.
Form 14-16 meatballs from the mixture. Working in batches, place meatballs into your air fryer basket in a single layer.
Cook on the air fry setting at 380F for 11-14 minutes, until meatballs have cooked through and the internal temperature reaches 160F.
Ingredients and Variations
Meat: While today I used a ground beef mixture, you can easily change it out to ground turkey, chicken, or even a variety (known as a meatloaf mix of ground pork and beef)
Seasonings: You can use anything that compliments blue cheese. Some of my favorite seasonings and herbs are chervil or sorrel.
Gluten-Free: This recipe can easily be adapted to be gluten-free by exchanging the breadcrumbs for gluten-free breadcrumbs.
Keto & Low-Carb: You can easily use crushed pork rinds instead of breadcrumbs or a perfect low-carb air fryer meatball.
How To Make Them in The Oven:
Prepare as directed in the recipe, and then place them into a greased baking sheet. Place them into a preheated 400 degrees F oven and cook for 20 to 30 minutes.
Serving Suggetions:
This is a great and easy appetizer, and since it can be low-carb and Keto friendly, it’s a great dish to share at your next gameday party. But you can also make this as part of a complete meal.
Some of my favorites are to serve this with mashed potatoes, pasta, or even a bowl of rice.
Storage and Reheating Instructions:
If you have any leftover bleu cheese meatballs, let them cool to room temperature and then place them into an airtight container. They will last in the refrigerator for 2 to 3 days.
You can either reheat them in the microwave or the air fryer, heat them until warmed through.
Dipping Sauces:
Is there anything better than dipping blue cheese meatballs into more blue cheese? Some of my favorite other dippings sauces to serve this with are:
- CREAMY ROASTED RED PEPPER SAUCE
- EASY TZATZIKI SAUCE
- HOMEMADE SPAGHETTI SAUCE RECIPE
- EASY SWEET CHILI SAUCE
- YUM YUM SAUCE
- ALFREDO DIP
