Cream together butter and sugar until smooth. Beat in eggs and vanilla. Stir in flour, baking powder, and salt.

Cover and chill for at least one hour or overnight. Roll out chilled cookie dough using sugar for dusting to prevent sticking. This gives a better flavor to sugar cookies than using a dusting of flour. Cut with cookie cutters and layout of a greased air fryer tray. Or an air fryer basket lined with cookie parchment paper.

Bake at320 degrees F, air fryer setting, for 4 to 6 minutes until the edges are golden and the center is still soft. Allow cooling before frosting as desired fully.

How To Make Royal Icing

  1. In a medium mixing bowl, mix sugar and vanilla. Slowly add milk in one teaspoon at a time, mixing until you have no lumps.
  2. Test that your icing is right by drizzling lines in the bowl. If they take a moment to sink back in, your mixture is perfect. If it sinks in right away, add a bit more powdered sugar to stiffen it up a bit.
