Air Fryer Easy Crispy Fried Tortellini

There is nothing better for a mid-afternoon snack than Air Fryer Easy Crispy Fried Tortellini. Coated with Panko Bread Crumbs, Parmesan Cheese, and spices, this is the perfect and delicious appetizer.

If you were looking for a great way to surprise your kids after school, this is what I surprised my kids with today, easy and delicious. This air fryer fried tortellini recipe is the perfect light lunch or appetizer.

Today, I used simple cheese tortellini and breaded them, but you can use any flavor you want. Trader Joe’s has some amazing variety of stuffed tortellini. My son’s favorite is Spinach Tortellini, so the next time I head to Trader Joe’s, I will be picking up a package.

Air Fryer Easy Crispy Fried Tortellini

If you ahve never had fried tortellini it’s a great and easy way to prepare stuffed tortllini e in a Panko and Parmesan breading. It air fries up nicely and you are left with a tasty morsel.

This recipe will work with any tortellini; I used cheese tortellini since that’s what I had on hand. The secret is to really make sure that the tortellini is dried before breading them. This way, the coating comes out nice, light, and crunchy.

Ingredients Needed:

  • Cheese Tortellini
  • Panko Bread crumbs
  • Grated Parmesan Cheese
  • Garlic Powder
  • Basil
  • Parsley
  • Salt
  • Eggs
  • Optional: Marina Sauce for Serving

How To Make Air Fryer Easy Crispy Fried Tortellini

Start by cooking the tortellini for about 4 minutes; you want it al dente. Drain and place on paper towels.

Lay your tortellini down on paper towels for a couple of minutes to get rid of the excess water.

In one bowl, beat the eggs, then place a tortellini onto the egg mixture.

In another small bowl, mix the Panko Bread Crumbs, cheese, garlic powder, basil, oregano, and salt. Then coat the tortellini into the mixture.

Spray the basket with cooking spray, and as you coat the tortellini put them into the basket. Set the temperature to 350 degrees F, air fryer setting, the time should be set for 7 minutes. Flip 1/2 way during the cooking process.

Note: If you want them extra crispy spray them with some cooking spray.

Serve with marinara sauce.

Can I Make These In The Oven?

Yes, prepare them, and then instead of putting them into the air fryer, place them into a preheated 400 degrees F for 12-15 minutes.

Making them in the oven is a great idea if you make a huge batch of them for a party or get-together.

Can I Make Use Freezer Tortellini?

Yes, the instructions will not change at all. You want them to be al-dente because you will be air frying them up and getting them fully cooked with your air fryer.

Next time you are at the store, take a look around in both the freezer section and the grocery store’s refrigerator section. You will be amazed at all of the different varieties now available.

What Are Some Dips To Go With Air Fried Tortellini?

Here are some of my favorites, but use anything that you like with the appetizer.

  • Alfredo sauce
  • Marinara Sauce (A Great Recipe for the Instant Pot Homemade Marinara Sauce)

Any sauce you like will be a great dipping sauce, even if you want to add some garlic and melted butter in a small saucepan. Perfect.

Can I Use Filled Tortellinis With Meat?

Yes, you can use whatever stuffed tortellini you would like. I often change between cheese and meat.

There are so many different varieties now available in the supermarket. Whether fresh or frozen, they are amazing in the air fryer.

Ingredients
