How To Make Air Fryer Crescent Roll Apple Danish

Laying out the crescent dough onto the cutting board.

Step One: Start by laying out the dough. I try to pinch the seam with my fingers closed. Brush the dough with melted butter, sprinkle the cinnamon/sugar mixture over the melted butter.

Rolling crescent dough into a braid, cutting into two portions, and shaping into a circle to form a pastry.

Step Two: Then use your hands and roll up the dough into a long braid.  Then cut the braid, into 2 equal portions and then loop the dough around itself, so it forms a circle.

Placing dough circles onto a greased air fryer tray, adding diced apples to the center, and air frying at 330°F for 5 minutes.

Step Three: Place your circles onto a greased air fryer tray or a greased air fryer basket (both sprayed with olive oil) Add the diced apples to the middle of the dough. Set the air fryer tray or air fryer basket into the air fryer and air fry with cook time for 5 minutes at 330 degrees F (air fryer setting) While the pastry is cooking, mix the powdered sugar and milk to make the icing. Drizzle the icing over the finished pastry.

Air Fryer Crescent Roll Apple Danish Recipe Tips

  • Use Fresh or Canned Apple Pie Filling 🍏 – You can use either fresh apples sautéed with cinnamon or canned apple pie filling for a quicker option. Both work wonderfully in this recipe!
  • Avoid Overstuffing 🥐 – When adding the apple filling, don’t overstuff the dough, as this can cause it to spill out while cooking. A small spoonful in the center works best.
  • Brush with Butter 🧈 – For a golden, flaky crust, brush the dough with melted butter before air frying. It adds richness and helps the dough crisp up beautifully.
  • Adjust Cooking Time ⏱️ – Air fryer models vary, so check your Danish halfway through to ensure it’s golden and cooked through. If needed, adjust the time by a couple of minutes.
  • Add a Glaze 🍬 – Once the Danish is done, drizzle with a simple glaze made of powdered sugar and milk for an extra sweet touch that complements the apples.
