How To Make Air Fryer Chicken Burritos
Step One: In a large mixing bowl, add the lime juice, oil, and seasonings, then add the chicken breast. Let the chicken marinade for about 20-30 minutes.
Step Two: Brush or spray your air fryer with cooking spray. Then add your chicken to the air fryer basket, set the temperature to 370 degrees F, air fryer setting, and set cook time for 12-15 minutes, or until the chicken reaches 165 degrees F.
Step Three: Let the chicken rest for a couple of minutes, before slicing it into strips. Add a tablespoon of olive oil to a small skillet, saute the pepper and onions, over medium heat, and cook until the vegetables are softened.
Step Four: Assemble the burritos, by adding the chicken, and vegetables, and add your toppings! Add back the burritos to the air fryer, and cook for a couple of minutes at 350 degrees F, remove when the cheese is melted!
Air Fryer Chicken Burritos Recipe Tips
- Prep Ingredients Ahead: To save time, prepare all your ingredients ahead of time.
- Use Tortillas That Hold Up: Choose sturdy tortillas (like flour or whole wheat) that can hold the fillings without tearing.
- Don’t Overstuff: Be careful not to overfill the burritos. A good rule of thumb is to use about 1/2 to 3/4 cup of filling per burrito.
- Seal the Edges Well: Make sure to fold and seal the edges of the burritos tightly to prevent the filling from leaking out during cooking.
- Add Extra Flavor: Consider adding spices or herbs to the chicken and vegetable mixture for extra flavor. Cumin, chili powder, and garlic powder work great.
- Serve with Dipping Sauces: Serve with salsa, guacamole, or sour cream for dipping.
- Experiment with Fillings: Add rice, beans, cheese, or your favorite veggies for variety.
- Store Leftovers Properly: If you have leftover burritos, store them in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days. Reheat them in the air fryer for a crispy texture.
