How To Make Air Fryer Mac And Cheese Egg Rolls

Step One: If you are using leftover macaroni and cheese, add it to a large mixing bowl, and reheat it in the microwave, so it’s slightly warm. This way you can easily fold the egg roll contents. Add your shredded cheddar cheese, mix well.

Step Two: Lay your egg roll wrapper on a cutting board or flat surface. Add about 2-3 tablespoons of mac and cheese mixture in the center of the egg roll wrapper. Fold the bottom point up over the filling and then fold in the sides, roll tightly. To get it to seal, I brushed the edges with water, using my pastry brush.

Step Three: Add your egg rolls into the air fryer basket, in a single layer. Spray the tops of the egg rolls, or brush with melted butter. Set the air fryer temperature to 375 degrees F, and set the cook time for 8-10 minutes. For best results, flip the egg rolls, halfway during the cooking process.
Step Four: Remove the egg rolls from the air fryer, and serve with your favorite dipping sauce.

Air Fryer Mac And Cheese Egg Rolls Recipe Tips
- Use a thick mac and cheese – Thick mac has more body, and the cheese is more likely to hold when you roll it and air fry. If its consistency is too thin, let it firm up in the refrigerator first.
- Don’t overfill the wrappers – Too much filling and your egg rolls will burst open when they cook. Figure on 2 to 3 tablespoons per roll.
- Spray with oil or brush with butter – This gives egg rolls that golden, crispy texture without deep frying.
- Flip halfway through baking – This will ensure that all sides of your rolls are crispy and golden, for a perfect bite every time.
Storing, Freezing & Reheating Instructions
- Storing: Let the egg rolls cool to room temperature and place into an airtight container. Placed in the refrigerator, the egg rolls will last for 3-5 days.
- Freezing: Want to make a second batch? These freeze perfectly. Place the cooked egg rolls on a parchment lined baking sheet, and pop in the freezer, until frozen solid. Remove the frozen egg rolls from the freezer and put the egg rolls into a freezer bag, or freezer safe container. The frozen egg rolls will last for 3-4 months.
- Reheating: Place the cold egg rolls into the air fryer basket, and set the air fryer temperature to 350 degrees F, and set the cook time for 4-5 minutes.

Air Fryer Mac And Cheese Egg Rolls Recipe Faqs
Can I use store-bought mac and cheese? Absolutely! Any kind of boxed or deli-style macaroni and cheese will do—just make sure it is thick enough to stand by itself when turned over.
Can I make these ahead of time? You can put together the egg rolls and store them for up to 24 hours before frying in an air fryer. Don’t forget to pack them well—this way they won’t be dry.
How do I keep them from bursting open? Avoid overfilling, and be sure to seal the edges with water. Also, roll them tightly to avoid any air pockets.
What dipping sauces go well with these? Ranch dressing, marinara sauce, spicy mayonnaise, or even barbecue sauce. They all go well with the hot, gooey cheese inside.
Can I freeze them? Yes! Freeze uncooked on a tray, then transfer to a bag. Air fry straight from frozen—just add a few extra minutes to the time.
