You can make the entire Auntie Anne’s menu at home: soft pretzels, pretzel dogs, and all five signature dips, most in 20 minutes or less. That smell of warm butter and pretzel salt drifting through the mall is hard to walk past, and in my house the dips are always the first thing to disappear.
I’ve been working on these copycats for years, and I finally have the whole lineup on Fork To Spoon. Below you’ll find every recipe in one place, what makes each one taste like the original, and how to put together a full food-court spread from your own kitchen.
Copycat Auntie Anne’s Pretzels and Pretzel Dogs
Start with the pretzel, then pick your dips. Here are three ways to get there, from scratch-made to straight out of the freezer.
1. Copycat Auntie Anne’s Pretzels (Oven or Air Fryer)

This is the one that started it all. The dough uses just a handful of pantry staples: warm water (or beer), instant yeast, sugar, all-purpose flour, salt, and butter. After a one-hour rise, you shape four big pretzels, give them a quick baking soda bath, and air fry at 350°F for 6 to 8 minutes.
The baking soda bath is the secret. It gives you that deep golden color and true pretzel flavor instead of plain bread. Finish with melted butter and pretzel salt, or dip them in cinnamon sugar for the sweet version.
Best dips: cheese for salted, sweet glaze or cream cheese for cinnamon sugar.

2. Air Fryer Auntie Anne’s Frozen Pretzels

No time for dough? Grab a box of Auntie Anne’s frozen pretzels from the grocery store. Air fry them at 400°F for 6 to 8 minutes, straight from frozen, then brush with melted butter and sprinkle with coarse salt.
They come out crisp outside and soft inside in about 13 minutes total. This is my go-to when the kids want a snack right now.
Best dips: any of them. This is the fastest way to set up a dip bar.

3. Auntie Anne’s Pretzel Dogs (Air Fryer, 20 Minutes)

A hot dog wrapped in soft, salty, golden dough is a food-court classic. My air fryer version skips the boiling step entirely, so you get pretzel dogs on the table in about 20 minutes. Brush with egg wash, sprinkle with pretzel salt, and let the air fryer do the rest.
Best dips: marinara and cheese. Set out both and let everyone choose.

Copycat Auntie Anne’s Dips
Let’s be honest: the dip is half the reason you stop at Auntie Anne’s. Two of these are savory, three are sweet, and four of the five take 10 minutes or less.
4. Copycat Auntie Anne’s Cheese Dip

This is the most popular copycat on my site, and for good reason. It’s a smooth, warm stovetop cheese sauce made with sharp cheddar, a little garlic powder, and a pinch of mustard powder for that tangy food-court flavor.
Shred your own cheese. Pre-shredded cheese has anti-caking agents that keep it from melting smoothly. Keep it warm in a small slow cooker for parties.

5. Copycat Auntie Anne’s Marinara Dip

The marinara that comes with pepperoni nuggets and pretzel dogs is thicker and sweeter than pasta sauce. My version uses tomato sauce, tomato paste, olive oil, garlic, a little sugar, and Italian seasoning, simmered in one saucepan for 10 minutes.
The tomato paste is what makes it cling to a pretzel, so don’t skip it. It’s even better the next day and freezes well in an ice cube tray.

6. Copycat Auntie Anne’s Sweet Glaze Dip

The Sweet Glaze is a thin, glossy vanilla icing, not a cream cheese frosting. You need just three ingredients: powdered sugar, milk or heavy cream, and vanilla. It’s ready in 5 minutes.
The key is the ratio. Use about 1½ tablespoons of liquid per cup of powdered sugar for the closest match to the mall dip. A half teaspoon of corn syrup gives it that shiny finish.

7. Easy Auntie Anne’s Sweet Caramel Dip

Auntie Anne herself loved caramel dip with the Sweet Almond pretzel. This creamy version blends cream cheese, brown sugar, granulated sugar, vanilla, and a pinch of salt until smooth. Chill for 30 minutes before serving.
It’s also great with apple slices, or drizzled over ice cream.

8. Copycat Auntie Anne’s Cream Cheese Dip

This is the sweet, fluffy, cheesecake-like dip that pairs perfectly with cinnamon sugar pretzel bites. Beat softened cream cheese and butter with powdered sugar and vanilla, and it’s ready in about 5 minutes.
Use full-fat block cream cheese at room temperature. Cold cream cheese is what makes this dip lumpy.

How to Build an Auntie Anne’s Food Court Spread at Home
For a party or game day, make one pretzel, one savory dip, and one sweet dip. That way everyone gets a little of both. Here’s a quick guide to what goes with what.
| Recipe | Type | Time | Pairs best with |
|---|---|---|---|
| Copycat Pretzels | Pretzel | About 1 hr 25 min (includes rise) | Cheese dip (salted), sweet glaze (cinnamon sugar) |
| Frozen Pretzels | Pretzel | 13 min | Any dip |
| Pretzel Dogs | Pretzel dog | About 20 min | Marinara, cheese dip |
| Cheese Dip | Savory dip | Stovetop, a few minutes | Salted pretzels, pretzel dogs |
| Marinara Dip | Savory dip | 10 min | Pretzel dogs, pretzel bites, mozzarella sticks |
| Sweet Glaze Dip | Sweet dip | 5 min | Cinnamon sugar pretzels, donut holes, churros |
| Caramel Dip | Sweet dip | 10 min + 30 min chill | Cinnamon sugar pretzels, apple slices |
| Cream Cheese Dip | Sweet dip | 5 min | Cinnamon sugar pretzel bites, fruit |
Make-ahead tip: All five dips keep in the fridge for up to a week, so you can make them the day before. Bake or air fry the pretzels right before serving so they’re warm.
Copycat Auntie Anne’s Recipes FAQs
What dips does Auntie Anne’s have? The classic lineup includes cheese, marinara, sweet glaze, caramel, and a sweet cream cheese dip. I have a copycat for every one of them above.
Is the sweet glaze the same as the cream cheese dip? No. The sweet glaze is a thin, glossy vanilla icing. The cream cheese dip is thick and tastes like cheesecake frosting. Both are great with cinnamon sugar pretzels.
Can I make Auntie Anne’s pretzels in the air fryer? Yes. After the baking soda bath, air fry at 350°F for 6 to 8 minutes, flipping halfway. You can also bake them in the oven.
How do I cook frozen Auntie Anne’s pretzels in the air fryer? Air fry them straight from frozen at 400°F for 6 to 8 minutes, then brush with butter and add salt.
Which dip goes with pretzel dogs? Marinara and cheese are the two most popular choices. Serve both.
Can I make the dips ahead of time? Yes. All five can be made a day ahead and refrigerated. Warm the cheese, marinara, and caramel dips gently before serving.
