Air Fryer Savory Pumpkin Twists With Puff Pastry Recipe Tips
- Thaw Puff Pastry Properly: Make sure to thaw your puff pastry according to package instructions before using. It should be cold but pliable to avoid tearing when twisted.
- Don’t Overfill: Spread a thin, even layer of pumpkin puree and toppings on the puff pastry to avoid overstuffing. Overfilling can cause the filling to leak out during cooking.
- Twist Gently: When twisting the puff pastry strips, be gentle to prevent the layers from tearing. Twist firmly enough to hold the shape but not too tight.
- Preheat the Air Fryer: Preheating the air fryer for a couple of minutes ensures the twists cook evenly and develop a crisp, golden texture.
- Use an Egg Wash: Brushing the twists with an egg wash before air frying will give them a shiny, golden finish.
- Cook in Batches: Avoid overcrowding the air fryer basket. Cook the twists in batches to ensure they crisp up evenly on all sides.
- Monitor Cooking Time: Depending on the size and thickness of your twists, cooking time may vary. Check for a golden-brown color and crispy texture, usually around 8-10 minutes.
- Serve Fresh: For the best texture, serve the pumpkin twists fresh from the air fryer while they are still warm and crispy.
