Easy Air Fryer Pineapple Upside-Down Cake for Two Recipe Tips

  • Use small ramekins: They help the cake cook evenly and make it easy to serve individual portions.
  • Check doneness with a toothpick: Insert a toothpick in the center; it should come out clean when the cake is fully cooked.
  • Layer toppings carefully: Place pineapple slices and cherries neatly to get that classic upside-down presentation.
  • Adjust cooking time if needed: Air fryer models vary, so check a few minutes before the recommended time to prevent over-browning.
  • Let it cool slightly: Allow the cake to rest for a few minutes before flipping to avoid breaking or sticking.

Storing Instructions

Allow the cakes to cool completely before storing. Place them in an airtight container and refrigerate for up to 3–4 days. Reheat gently in the air fryer or microwave before serving to enjoy warm, gooey pineapple goodness.

Can I use canned pineapple instead of fresh slices? A: Yes! Just drain the canned pineapple well to avoid extra moisture, which can affect the cake texture.

Can I make this cake in a regular oven? Absolutely. Bake at 325°F for 15-18 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.

How do I prevent the cake from sticking to the ramekin? Grease the ramekin thoroughly with non-stick spray or butter and sprinkle a little sugar for easy release.
