How To Make St. Patrick’s Day Ice Cream Ninja Creami Recipe

Whisking milk, cream, sugar, peppermint extract, and green food coloring in a bowl.

Step 1: In a medium bowl, whisk together whole milk, heavy cream, and granulated sugar until the sugar fully dissolves. Stir in peppermint extract and a few drops of green food coloring until you reach your desired festive shade.

Step 2: Pour the mixture into your Ninja Creami pint container, making sure not to exceed the max fill line. Secure the lid and freeze on a flat surface for at least 24 hours.

Step 3: Place the frozen pint into the Ninja Creami machine and select the Ice Cream function. Let it spin until smooth and creamy.

Step 4: If the texture looks crumbly after the first spin, simply run the Re-Spin function once. This usually creates that perfectly creamy texture.

Step 5: If making mint chocolate chip, create a small well in the center and add mini chocolate chips. Use the Mix-In function to evenly distribute.

Step 6: Scoop into bowls or cones and top with whipped cream, sprinkles, or extra chocolate chips for a festive finish.

St. Patrick’s Day Ice Cream Ninja Creami Recipe Tips

  • Use full-fat dairy for best texture: Whole milk and heavy cream create a richer, smoother ice cream. Lower-fat options can turn slightly icy.
  • Dissolve the sugar completely: Whisk thoroughly so there’s no graininess. Undissolved sugar can affect texture after freezing.
  • Go easy on peppermint extract: Peppermint is strong. Start small and taste the base before freezing to avoid overpowering flavor.
  • Freeze completely flat for 24 hours: The pint needs to freeze solid and level. A tilted pint can cause uneven spinning.
  • Re-Spin is your friend: If the texture looks crumbly after the first cycle, run the Re-Spin once. That usually fixes it instantly.
  • Add mix-ins after spinning: Chocolate chips or candies should be added using the Mix-In function so they stay intact instead of getting pulverized.
  • Let it sit briefly before scooping: If it’s too firm straight from the freezer, let it rest 2–3 minutes for easier scooping.

Storing Instructions

Store your St. Patrick’s Day Ice Cream in the Ninja Creami pint container with the lid tightly sealed for up to 2 weeks in the freezer. If it becomes too firm, simply run the Re-Spin function or let it sit at room temperature for a few minutes before scooping to restore its creamy texture.

St. Patrick’s Day Ice Cream Ninja Creami Recipe Faqs

Can I make this without peppermint extract? Yes, you can use vanilla extract instead for a creamy green vanilla ice cream.

Can I use low-fat milk or cream? You can, but full-fat dairy gives the creamiest, smoothest texture. Lower-fat options may result in a slightly icy consistency.

Do I need to freeze the mixture for 24 hours? Yes, freezing the pint completely ensures the Ninja Creami can process it into smooth, scoopable ice cream.

Can I add chocolate chips or candies? Absolutely! Use the Ninja Creami Mix-In function to fold in chocolate chips, sprinkles, or other mix-ins after spinning.

Why is my ice cream crumbly after the first spin? This is normal. Run the Re-Spin function once to achieve a creamy, smooth texture.

How long can I store leftovers? Keep the ice cream in an airtight Ninja Creami pint in the freezer for up to 2 weeks. Let it sit a few minutes at room temperature or Re-Spin before serving.

Can I make this ahead for a party? Yes. Freeze 1–2 days in advance, then process and add mix-ins right before serving for the best texture.
