How To Make Air Fryer Frozen Lasagna
Below you’ll find the super easy instructions for cooking Stouffer’s frozen lasagna in air fryer. An important note: You must remove the frozen lasagna from the pan or dish that the frozen lasagna comes in and place it in a baking dish that’s air fryer safe.
Step 1: Thaw
Let the lasagna thaw for a few minutes, so you can easily remove it from the dish it comes in, and transfer it to an air fryer dish.
Step 2: Air fry frozen lasagna
Air fry the lasagna at 375 degrees F for 10 to 15 minutes or until the lasagna is fully cooked and bubbling. Let it cool slightly before serving and enjoy!
Pro Tips For Cooking Stouffer’s Lasagna in Air Fryer
- Always remove the lasagna from the packaging before placing it in the air fryer basket! If you don’t, the plastic will melt and you could totally ruin your air fryer.
- Air fry at a high temperature for best results. I found that between 375 and 400 degrees F was perfect for Stouffer’s and Costco brands.
- If the lasagna is pre-cooked, it will only need to be heated through. If it’s raw, like the lasagna used in this recipe, cook for the recommended time on the recipe card below.
- Cooking times will vary depending on the size and thickness of the lasagna. Thicker pieces will take longer to cook through.
- Top your air fryer lasagna with shredded cheese or additional sauce before cooking.
- To prevent sticking, be sure to lightly spray the air fryer pan with cooking spray before adding the lasagna.
Frozen Lasagna in Air Fryer FAQ
You don’t have to, but I usually let it thaw for a few minutes so it’s easier to remove from the dish it comes in.
You can absolutely use your air fryer to cook homemade frozen lasagna too! Sometimes I’ll make a big batch of homemade lasagna and then freeze individual portions for later. You can follow the same instructions as my Stouffer’s lasagna air fryer recipe with homemade: 10-15 minutes at 375 degrees F is all you’ll need.
Sure! You can always use your oven instead of your air fryer to make this recipe. Preheat to 375 degrees F and let the lasagna thaw on the countertop for about 15 minutes. Cover with foil, pop in the oven, and bake for 25 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for 10-15 more minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly. Allow the lasagna to rest for 5-10 minutes before serving. And that’s it!
While you technically could, I recommend placing your lasagna in an air fryer-safe baking dish instead. You don’t need to worry about any leakage, which will make cleanup a lot easier!
In search of the best frozen lasagna, we sampled six brands: Stouffer’s, Bertolli, Fire Rooney, Best Yet, Journeymen Lodge, and Rao’s.
We evaluated them based on taste, texture, and overall appearance. Overall, our favorite was Stouffer’s lasagna. The pasta was perfectly cooked, and the sauce had a nice balance of acidity and sweetness. The cheese was also flavorful and well-distributed throughout the dish. While all of the lasagnas were satisfactory, Stouffer’s lasagna from the air fryer was the clear winner in terms of flavor and texture!
