How To Cook Breakfast Sausage in Air Fryer
The same recipe and method will work whether you are cooking patties or sausage links in the air fryer.
The exact time will depend on which air fryer you are using. If your sausage patties are extra thick, you may need to add a few minutes to the cooking time.
Step 1: Preheat the air fryer
Preheat your air fryer to 390 degrees F (air fryer setting) for about 4 to 5 minutes.
Step 2: Cook sausage
Place the sausages in the air fryer basket, leaving space around each one. Air fry for 8 to 10 minutes, flipping halfway during the cooking process.
Pro Tips:
- Fresh vs. frozen. Yes, you can cook frozen breakfast sausages in air fryer (links or patties) without even defrosting them! Preheat the air fryer at 390 degrees F, then place the frozen sausages in air fryer basket. Cook links for 10-12 minutes and patties for 12-15 minutes.
- Don’t crowd the basket. Leave space around each link or patty so the hot air has room to circulate around the food. Otherwise, your breakfast sausage won’t cook evenly or brown on all sides.
- Flip halfway. This is an important step! Use tongs or a spatula to turn over air fryer sausage links or patties halfway through cooking. This helps them to brown evenly.
Storage and Reheating
I like to cook breakfast sausages in the air fryer to order so they come out hot, fresh, and juicy! If you don’t manage to eat all of them, store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 3 to 4 days.
Reheat sausages in the air fryer for a few minutes, until warmed through.

How to bake sausage links
Sausage links are a popular breakfast food. They can be cooked in a variety of ways, but baking is a simple and effective method. Preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. How long to cook sausage links
If you’re wondering how long to cook sausage links, the answer depends on a few factors. First, it depends on the type of sausage you’re cooking. For example, chicken sausages will cook faster than pork sausages. Second, it depends on how you’re cooking the sausage. If you’re grilling or frying, the sausage will cook faster than if you’re baking or boiling. Finally, it also depends on how hot your grill or stove is – if it’s turned up too high, the sausage will cook too quickly on the outside while remaining raw in the middle. So how long should you cook sausage links? As a general rule, chicken sausages will take about 10 minutes to cook, while pork sausages will take about 15 minutes. But of course, the best way to know for sure is to use a meat thermometer to check for doneness. Enjoy!
