Description

Copycat Hooters wing sauce is the buttery, tangy, perfectly spiced buffalo sauce that made the restaurant famous — ready in 12 minutes with simple pantry ingredients.

Ingredients 

  • ½ cup hot sauce, such as Frank's RedHot
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, 1 stick
  • 1 tablespoon white vinegar, or apple cider vinegar for a milder tang
  • ½ tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoons brown sugar, or honey, adjusted to taste
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper, to taste
  • 1/4 teaspoon Salt, to taste

Instructions

  • Prepare ingredients. Measure out everything so the cooking goes smoothly.
  • Melt the butter in a saucepan over medium heat, aiming for a gentle melt.
  • Add hot sauce and vinegar once the butter is melted, whisking continuously to blend.
  • Add seasonings — Worcestershire, garlic powder, and brown sugar or honey — and mix until combined.
  • Simmer on low for 5–7 minutes, stirring occasionally, to meld the flavors.
  • Adjust to taste with salt, pepper, extra hot sauce for heat, or more sweetener as desired.
  • Cool and store. Use immediately over wings, or transfer to an airtight container and refrigerate.

Notes

For the closest match to the original, use a cayenne-based hot sauce and keep the simmer low so the butter doesn't separate.
