Air Fryer Homemade Bagel Breakfast Sandwiches

Description

A hearty, homemade breakfast sandwich built on a fresh air fryer bagel, layered with a baked egg, a savory sausage patty, and melted cheese. A copycat fast-food favorite made better — and entirely in your air fryer.

Ingredients 

  • 1 bagel, sliced in half
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 breakfast sausage patty
  • 1 slice cheese, cheddar, American, or your favorite
  • Optional: butter, salt, pepper

Instructions

  • Grease a small oven-safe ramekin with cooking spray and crack the egg inside.
  • Place the sliced bagel halves (cut-side up) and the ramekin with the egg into the air fryer basket. Set to 330°F for 3 minutes.
  • Remove the toasted bagel halves and set aside. Add the sausage patty to the basket next to the egg, and cook for another 2 minutes.
  • Remove the egg ramekin. Increase the temperature to 390°F and cook the sausage for a final 3 minutes, until browned and cooked through (160°F internal).
  • Place the bottom bagel half on a cutting board. Add the cheese slice, flip the baked egg on top, layer on the sausage patty, and close with the top bagel half.
  • Plate, serve warm, and enjoy!

Notes

  • Make the bagel first: This sandwich is best with a fresh homemade air fryer bagel. Store-bought works in a pinch.
  • Storage: Refrigerate cooled sandwiches in an airtight container for 2–3 days, or freeze wrapped for up to 2 months.
  • Reheat: Air fry at 340°F for 4–5 minutes (or 350°F for 6–8 minutes from frozen).
  • Gluten-free: Use a gluten-free self-rising flour blend in the bagel dough.
  • Every air fryer is different — check for doneness and adjust time as needed.
