  • 5 cups broccoli florets
  • 1/3 cup soy sauce
  • 3 tablespoons sesame oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon ginger, adjust to taste
  • 4 tablespoons honey
  • 3 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 3 tablespoons rice vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon salt, to taste
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper, to taste
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper, optional
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil

Ingredients For Cooking:

  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds, optional for garnish

Instructions

Instructions for Freezing:

  • Slice beef into stir fry strips and chop broccoli into florets. Mince the garlic.
  • In a bowl, combine soy sauce, garlic, honey, brown sugar, sesame oil, rice vinegar, ginger, salt, pepper, and cayenne (if using).
  • Add the beef and broccoli to a large freezer bag or container. Pour the sauce over the beef and broccoli, seal the bag, and mix to coat.
  • Label and date the bag or container, then freeze for up to 3 months.

Cooking Instructions (After Thawing):

  • Remove the frozen meal from the freezer and thaw in the refrigerator overnight.
  • Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  • In a small bowl, mix 1 tablespoon of cornstarch with 1 tablespoon of water.
  • Spread the beef and broccoli mixture evenly on a sheet pan. Bake for 20-25 minutes, stirring halfway through, until the beef is cooked through and the broccoli is tender.
  • While baking, transfer the sauce mixture to a small saucepan over medium heat. Stir in the cornstarch slurry and cook until the sauce thickens (2-3 minutes).
  • Drizzle the thickened sauce over the cooked beef and broccoli.
