Description

This is a straightforward and tasty recipe, using fresh apples with a coating of cinnamon apple filling, all wrapped in a fried egg roll—an easy and excellent fall dessert.

Ingredients 

  • 2 large apples, peeled, cored, and thinly sliced
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 8 egg roll wrappers
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • Caramel sauce, for serving (optional)

Instructions

  • Start by peeling and thinly slicing the apples. In a bowl, toss the sliced apples with sugar, cinnamon, and lemon juice until well coated. Cook the apple mixture in a skillet over medium heat until the apples are tender and the filling is thickened. Allow the filling to cool slightly.
  • Place a spoonful of the apple pie filling onto the center of an egg roll wrapper. Fold the bottom corner of the wrapper over the filling, then fold in the sides, and roll tightly to enclose the filling, sealing the edges with a bit of water.
  • Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C) for a few minutes.
  • Lightly brush each egg roll with melted butter to promote browning. Place the egg rolls in a single layer in the air fryer basket, leaving space between them to allow for air circulation. Depending on the size of your air fryer, you may need to work in batches.
  • Air fry the egg rolls at 375°F (190°C) for 8-10 minutes, flipping halfway through the cooking time, until they are golden brown and crispy on all sides.
  • Once cooked, remove the apple pie egg rolls from the air fryer and let them cool slightly before serving. Optionally, drizzle with caramel sauce for an extra indulgent touch. Enjoy your delicious air fryer apple pie egg rolls as a sweet snack or dessert!
