Description

A creamy, sweet, smoky, and tangy dipping sauce — ready in 5 minutes with pantry staples.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise, full-fat
  • 2 tablespoons ketchup
  • 1 tablespoon yellow mustard
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 1 tablespoon barbecue sauce, sweet-style
  • 1 teaspoon apple cider vinegar
  • 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper, optional
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste

Instructions

  • In a medium bowl, combine the mayonnaise, ketchup, yellow mustard, honey, and barbecue sauce.
  • Stir in the apple cider vinegar, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, and cayenne (if using).
  • Whisk vigorously until the sauce is completely smooth and uniform in color (a glossy pinkish-orange).
  • Season with salt and black pepper to taste. Adjust honey for more sweetness or vinegar for more tang.
  • Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes before serving — this lets the flavors meld.

Equipment

  • Mixing Bowl
  • Whisk

Notes

NOTES
  • Storage: Store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 10 days. Do not freeze.
  • Spicier: Add a teaspoon of hot sauce.
  • Smokier: Swap cayenne for chipotle powder.
