Creamy, sharp-cheddar Outback Steakhouse mac and cheese made easy in the air fryer. This copycat side dish is rich, cheesy, and ready in about 30 minutes with simple pantry staples.
Ingredients
1½cupsdry elbow or small macaroni, uncooked
1cupwater
½cupheavy cream
8ouncesshredded sharp cheddar cheese, divided
1teaspoondry mustard
½teaspoonsalt
¼teaspoonblack pepper
½teaspoongarlic powder
Instructions
In a large bowl, stir together the macaroni, water, heavy cream, about three-quarters of the cheddar, dry mustard, salt, black pepper, and garlic powder until well combined.
Pour the mixture into an air-fryer-safe pan or oven-safe casserole dish. Set the pan in the air fryer basket, set the temperature to 360°F, and cook for 15–20 minutes.
When the mac and cheese is about halfway through cooking, stir in the remaining cheddar so it melts through.
