Description

A thick, cookies-and-cream Oreo milkshake made in the Ninja Slushi. Four ingredients, no blender, and the machine does the churning for a smooth, spoonable texture.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups vanilla ice cream, full-fat
  • ½ cup whole milk
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 4-6 Oreo cookies, broken into pieces
  • Whipped cream, optional for topping
  • Crushed Oreos, optional for garnish

Instructions

  • Set up the Ninja Slushi on a level counter, making sure it has sat upright at least 2 hours. Slide the condensation catch under the evaporator, click the auger into place, drop the vessel on with the bail handle up and push the handle down to lock, then snap on the drip tray.
  • In a 4-cup measuring cup, whisk together the vanilla ice cream, whole milk, and granulated sugar until the sugar fully dissolves and no ice cream lumps remain.
  • Break the Oreo cookies into pencil-eraser-sized chunks by hand, or crush them in a zip-top bag with a rolling pin. Avoid crushing to powder. Reserve a spoonful for garnish.
  • Pour the base through the fill port, add the cookie pieces on top, and close the cover.
  • Power on and select the MILKSHAKE setting. Let the machine churn 15-30 minutes, until it beeps three times and the lights go solid.
  • Dispense a small amount to check the texture. If it is thinner than you want, press the up arrow to increase the freeze level and wait 5 more minutes.
  • Pour into chilled glasses, top with whipped cream and crushed Oreos, and serve immediately with a wide straw or spoon.

Equipment

  • Ninja Slushi Frozen Drink Maker
  • 4-cup glass measuring cup
  • Whisk
  • Zip-top bag and rolling pin
  • Tall glasses

Notes

  • The Slushi needs about 8 grams of sugar per 8 ounces of liquid to slush properly. Do not omit the sugar, and add it back if using sugar-free ice cream or unsweetened plant milk.
  • For a thicker shake, reduce the milk to ⅓ cup or raise the freeze level after the first cycle.
  • Dairy-free: use coconut or almond-based vanilla ice cream and oat milk. Standard Oreos are already dairy-free.
  • Keep total volume between 16 and 64 ounces. This recipe makes about 20 ounces.
  • Rinse the machine immediately after dispensing using the rinse function and hot water.
